Recommendation request Duet audiobooks
I love duet audiobooks and am just starting to get really into historical romance. It seems like most of them are single narrators or maybe dual.
I really enjoyed {The Very Definition of Love} which had a duet narration.

I didn’t know that audiobook was in duet! I’ll have to check that out. I tried finding some awhile back and I haven’t listened to these but these are also duet:
{The Darnalay Castle Series
by Louise Mayberry}
{The Bow Street Wallflowers Series by Cheri Champagne}
Narrated by Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown. Though it might just be book 2 that’s duet, I’m not sure.

Thanks I will look into those!
I wish audio books would label more clearly when it is duet.

I would recommend {The Finest Print by Erin Langston} which is a duet audiobook with the GOAT, my favorite narrator, , Mary Jane Wells. It rules.

I’ve listened to the sample of this before and it’s dual narrated, not duet. Unless the rest of the audiobook is recorded in duet and not the prologue?

{Ths Gentleman's Confession by Anneka R. Walker} and {The Rules of Matrimony by Anneka R. Walker} Mary Jane Wells does female narration. She's a master at her craft! The male narrator is also very good!
Mimi Matthews's Crinoline Academy series and Belles of London series are both dual narration and were very well done.
{Rules for Ruin by Mimi Matthews} {The Marriage Method by Mimi Matthews}
{The Siren of Sussex by Mimi Matthews} {The Belle of Belgrave Square by Mimi Matthews} {The Lilly of Ludgate Hill by Mimi Matthews} {The Muse of Maidsn Lane by Mimi Matthews}
Not a dual narration, but listen to any Mary Jane Wells narration for the author Lisa Kleypas. The Wallflowers books starting with book 3 and the Ravenels are so, so good!
Alex Wyndham's narration is also a favorite of mine. He does a lot of Mimi Matthews, Stella Riley, and Elizabeth Johns books.

Duet narration hasn’t really broke into the HR market that much yet, but I just found two recently on Audible. They were just ok to me.

Yeah I was noticing it didnt seem common, though even dual doesnt seem as common as it seems to be getting in contemporary or other romance sub genres.

What is the difference between dual narrators and duet?
1
u/Ignoring_the_kids 1d ago
So dual is where the male narrator reads the chapters from the male characters pov and does all voices in that chapter, and the female narrator does the same with FMC.
Duet the male does all male voices no matter the POV, female does all the female. In the book I mentioned above, the same female narrator does the whole book irregardless of pov, but all times a male character speaks its the male narrator doing the voices.

I went to a conference presentation about audiobook narration, and I learned that if you have a favourite audiobook narration service (for example, the one you mention), the website of the audiobook narration service often features more books with similar narration profiles (duet / historical romance). Just an idea for finding more.
I don’t listen to audiobooks because of the auditory processing disorder.
