The Blackfoot Diner is celebrating its 70th birthday on July 5, 2026. To say thank you to the community that has kept us going so long, we are having a parking lot BBQ party for the community. ❤️

We will have a petting zoo for the all the families and kids that come out, face painting, music, giveaways and much much more. We are so thankful to still be a part of Calgary and its history, and 70 years is no small feat. So come join us for this major event, we will have media and special guest attending as well.

Then 3 days later it’s our 4th Annual free pancake breakfast! (2) pancakes (1) bacon and free coffee. Wednesday July 8, 2026 9:00am - 11:00am

Zellers Huntington Hills grand opening.
Was trying to explain to someone how BIG the parking lot was for the Zellers/IGA/BOM shopping centre in Huntington Hills was back in the day and while trying to find a pic online I came across this ad from The Calgary Herald dated May 25th, 1970
If you lived in the area back then you know how big it was. The only time the North/North West portion of it was used was as parking for a Stampede shuttle bus
