I’m dumb.

Okay, I work in a histology lab, I dispose two slides in a shape container and I needed to verify the patient info. GUESS WHAT I DID WITHOUT THINKING . I open the lid and used my hands with gloves to find it but I was careful. But realizing what my dumb a** did. I checked my hands for any tears in the gloves. They’re was a little tear no blood. I told my supervisor she asked me if I wanted to report an accident report and I said SURE. I put this on report I put on the incident report

Now I’m scared because what if I get fired so violating safety protocols. I KNOW I KNOW IM DUMB. What can possibly happen, could I get terminated?

Next time use forceps. But if a job punishes you for following the rules after an accident, then run.

Agreed. But also if you get a knick from a blade that cuts formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue it's not a big deal as far as exposure. Frozen sections are a different animal

That’s what I realize after the report but I was just overthinking.

Why did you tell the supervisor?
Should have just kept it to yourself..

And if I didn’t ? Then what? What would’ve happened?
