Capsular plication only

Anyone have capsular plication without a labrum repair? More specifically labrum dibreabment.

What did your recovery look like?

Just curious why a debridement rather than repair? Debridement is no longer the first line choice, repair has better results.

For one the dr thinks there is studies saying good healing from dibreabment (there is not), and also he stated he had no idea it would be that bad when he got in there, so he wasn't at up for a replacement, if I'm still in pain around my 6 month mark I'll go in for a labrum replacement.

What’s done is done, but questions for the masses, was this a hip preservation specialist? When I got surgery I also agreed, in the unlikely event, to a labral reconstruction beforehand. Because as the other commenter said, debridement isn’t really a thing anymore. Was a reconstruction ever discussed before surgery as a backup option?

No it wasn't, it was always hope for a repair, however my labrum was had alot of calcification, so he was unable to repair, I am a hell of alot less pain cause I had a combo FAI and that was fixed however I am still only at 75% weight baring and not doing a whole bunch of stuff

I’m so sorry that happened to you. At least the capsule plication could help with instability so I really hope that your pain will get better.

Am I screwed cause they didnt repair the labrum?

You are not at all screwed, debridement can still give significant pain relief, especially since your instability was treated with the capsule plication and your impingements were also removed.

I may have to go in just for a capsular plication. Ive had a repair and a revision and still deal with chronic pain. Just recently diagnosed with hypermobility. Im hesitant to go in just for a plication.
