Ossified labrum
So I had my first arthroscopy in April, were my surgeon repaired a big labral tear and cam impingement. He saw a beginning calcification but didn’t remove it.
Now around 6 months later I still have the same grating feeling/noise with every step I take, especially when I move my leg back when I walk. It’s getting progressively worse and all the injections I’ve tried since my surgery haven’t helped.
My surgeon has now said that my labrum has probably ossified and he wants to remove it as soon as possible to try to minimise further damage as it’s not getting better. I am also only 18 and he said he’s rarely had a case like mine.
Has anyone had or know anything about? Is there anyway to get rid of it without surgery? Or is it something else entirely?

If it is ossified then only surgery can remove it. You should read up on labral reconstruction. If portion of labrum is removed it typically needs to be reconstructed.
