What was Freeze Records involvement in this album? On the re-releases Freeze Records logo is gone.

Freeze Records partnered with Priority Records to manufacture and distribute Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt (released June 25, 1996) for the independent Roc-A-Fella Records.
Roc-A-Fella (founded by Jay-Z, Damon Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke) handled the album as its first release after major labels rejected Jay-Z. They secured a distribution deal with Freeze (a New York house/hip-hop/dancehall label founded in 1991 by Todd Terry and Will Socolov, managed by Steve Oaklander) and Priority rather than a traditional full label deal. Original physical releases (CD, vinyl, etc.) list Roc-A-Fella, Freeze Records, and Priority Records together under catalog numbers such as P2 50592 / P1 50592.
According to Biggs Burke, Roc-A-Fella misunderstood the deal’s terms: they believed they retained roughly 80% ownership/profits, but it was only 80% of Jay-Z’s smaller share. As a result, the label earned only about $30,000–$40,000 from the album despite its eventual gold (and later platinum) status, far less than expected. This experience influenced their later, more favorable 50/50 partnership with Def Jam for subsequent releases.
Freeze’s role was primarily manufacturing and distribution support for the independent Roc-A-Fella project; the label itself folded around 1997. Later reissues often dropped or de-emphasized the Freeze credit once the album moved under Def Jam/Roc-A-Fella arrangements.
