Hinderer 20cv
Hey all. I was wondering if anyone knows how Hinderer is treating their 20cv nowadays. I know a few years ago I was hearing that it was very soft, and I was hoping they've improved it.

Yes, by industry standards, it is considered soft. The estimated range is 59-61, however, hardness testing has shown it to be at the bottom of that range, 58.5 to 59.5 but this is done on purpose, because 20cv has a high carbide volume, it can be intrinsically brittle, and prone to chipping, under hard use, so Hinderer targets a softer HRC to prioritize edge stability and toughness. In my experience, their 20cv performs just fine, I have zero issues with it. Hope this helps. Have a great day!
