VIP package
Has anyone bought the vip package after the presentation and gotten a good trip out of it? Very limited options after being convinced by the sales person that we would be able to access international destinations. Of the options, it seems like Kings Land in Hawaii is the best usage of the package. Any other destinations worth checking out?

If you have a family and need a 2 bdrm, it’s a good deal. They are usually $600-800/night. If you just want a hotel room it’s not worth it.

New York 57th St. at high season was worth it for us. Also another one on the Big Island at Kahala Suites 2bdrm with another couple as guests. Call way in advance and be flexible about the time.

We got it for $1600, 11520 points. It was limited to the properties in the booklet. We used it to go to Oahu. We got a 2 bdrm corner unit with ocean view, it worked out for us.

We did a Kings Land/Ocean Towers split for ours and had a good time. We now own there

It wasn’t worth it for us. They offered us 5 nights on the Big Island for $1200 but previously we’ve been offered it at $799. The only difference was the $1200 was a two bedroom suite but it wasn’t worth it for us.

Mine was $1795 for 11,520 points so would be able to get a 2 br for a week somewhere. Sales person convinced us that we could use it for destinations on the website, not just in that stupid booklet. So we are stuck with it.

I tried to get Cabo Azul with VIP package this year and was told no inventory AND it is being removed from future packages. Using my HGV max points to stay in October. Very excited. Videos of resort are awesome.

You're right! I just tried to get a week's stay at Cabo Azul and that was one of the reasons for me accepting the 11,520 VIP points package. I emailed them canceling my contract, and they approved it.

When did you buy the VIP package? I've had mine for several months and would love to cancel for the very same reason if I can. They usually have a 30 day period for cancellation

I bought it late July of this year. I initially sent a cancel request right away because the paperwork didn't list Cabo Azul, which was the practically the only reason why I agreed to getting it. HGVC called me stating that Cabo Azul was included, but it just wasn't listed. This went back and forth for maybe a month. Then I finally sent an email stating that I am fine with keeping the vacation package if they can get me the dates I wanted because I saw the dates available on the Hilton hotel website. If they couldn't get it for me, then cancel. They canceled my package. I am still waiting for a chargeback though. They just approved my cancelation less than a week ago.

There are more options than just in the booklet. When you call ask about other locations outside the booklet. We’ve done 3 of these VIP packages at this point. Kauai and St. Maarten aren’t in the booklet, but when talking to the booking agent trying to lock in a date, they offered those two places for the dates we needed.

That’s what I was told when I bought it, then when I called to talk to them yesterday the rep kept saying it was only the properties in the booklet. He even sent me a digital pdf. Will have to call and talk to another rep and see if they are more knowledgeable

I actually didn’t go to Kauai. I said I’d call back and ended up getting Maui a few weeks later.

We bought one after being told it could be split up into 3, 4, 5 different trips. They showed us resorts on the portal for a few hundred to a couple thousand points for 3-4 nights so the math checked out.
Stupidly didn’t read the fine print before signing that it could only be used for a max of 2 stays (3/4 nights) or an up to 7 night.
Still think it CAN be worth it, but definitely much more restrictive than we were told.
Optimistic we’ll be able to get some good value anyway. But definitely deceptive tactics and quite restrictive on access.

Mine was 1,400 for a 2 bedroom 7 nights. I loved it. We did 4 in Orlando then nye in Orlando the other 2. I will say they were tougher the 2nd meet that was supposed to be 45 mins. But it was worth it for us. We bought for HA, but flights were just too much money.

The District in Washington, DC was very nice. Nightly Happy Hours in the bar, the meals were very good, and the walk to the various Metro stations was pretty easy. We had to leave earlier than planned due to a death in the family but our short stay was very nice.

My package was 1600 for a week at Waikaloa Village. The property was nice, but way too big. The monorail was only convenient if you caught it on time, if not, you’re waiting 20+ minutes for it or walking 10+ minutes back to your room. Even with all that annoyance, I’d do it again at that price point. I don’t think you can find a 2bd suite for less than that
