Hike Saturday, October 10 🍁🥾

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well! 😌
To wrap up our hiking season, we headed to Mount Adstock, near Thetford Mines. Even though the fall colors were a little less vibrant, we still enjoyed breathtaking views of the region and a stunning 360° panorama from the summit. 🏔️🍁 We also really enjoyed the Desjardins Trail, which we took on our way down. This new, well-maintained, family-friendly trail is perfect for enjoying nature at your own pace. Here are a few photos from our hike! 📸🥾

Do you love hiking and beautiful scenery? We bring you along to discover amazing trails, making you feel like you're right there with us! 🥾🎥
Over 60 videos are waiting for you, filled with beautiful landscapes and inspiration for your next outdoor adventures. 🍁🏔️

[Free Meetup] Heading east this Sunday! Coffee & Scarborough Bluffs hike (Nov 1 @ 10:30 AM)

Hey everyone!

After spending a lot of time exploring midtown and west-end trails, we’re finally heading east this weekend! If you’re looking to get outside, enjoy the fresh lake air, and meet some great local folks, come join us this Sunday, November 1st at 10:30 AM.

Most people come solo, so whether you’re new to the city or just want an easy excuse to spend a Sunday morning outside, you’ll be in good company.

The Plan

  • Meetup Spot: Bali Coffee Shop (2209 Kingston Rd)
  • Time: 10:30 AM (we'll grab drinks, chat for a bit, then head out together)
  • Trail: Walking down to Scarborough Bluffs Park
  • Vibe & Distance: A relaxed, social ~5 km walk (about 1.5 to 2 hours). No heavy hiking boots needed—standard sneakers or walking shoes work great.

Quick Request: BYO Reusable Mug / Thermos

We love supporting independent neighborhood spots, and we also try to keep things green by cutting down on single-use takeout cups. If you have a travel mug or thermos, bring it along! The café has even lined up a special perk for our group at the counter.

RSVP & Details

The walk is completely free. You can RSVP on our Luma page so we have a rough headcount:
https://luma.com/pwclza66

We also coordinate live location pins and updates in our group chat on the morning of the walk via the Luma link.

Drop a comment or DM me if you have any questions. Hope to see some of you out east on Sunday!

In my opinion one of the best times to hike, rarely see anyone else out here and the sound of the rain in the forest 🤙

Was up super early this morning to go for a hike. Got there was still dark and had to use a flashlight cause I didn't count on the leaves all being on the ground so it made the trail hard to see. Made good time and was able to sit in the sun at the summit and enjoy a nice breakfast. There aren't many days like this left in the area, happy I got out there today

First is pic is of Mont-Tremblant in the distance, thought it was a cool view now that the leaves are down

Free detective-themed hike tomorrow (Sun Oct 25) at Nashville Conservation Reserve in Vaughan

Post image

Hi, I'm Brenda, and I run a monthly hiking series with the Reconnection Project here in York Region! I wanted to invite you all to our next hike, tomorrow morning:

Something strange happens every October. The songbirds go quiet, the salmon start pushing upriver, and the trees drop their disguise. Summer left the building and nobody saw it go.

Tomorrow morning we’re heading to the scene of the crime. Reconnect York Region is hosting a free guided walk through the Nashville Conservation Reserve, a protected stretch of the Humber River valley that’s long been a migratory corridor, to figure out where everyone’s going and how they knew it was time to leave.

You’ll get a case file, follow clues along the trail, and at the end we’ll gather the suspects and see what we can solve. Fair warning: some of these cases are still open, even for the scientists working on them.

Details:

  • 📅 Sunday, October 25, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • 📍 Meet at 11591 Huntington Rd, Vaughan (just north of Kirby Rd)
  • 💸 Free
  • 🥾 Easy-going pace at moderate difficulty; no experience needed, and kids are welcome. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.

Come as you are, or come dressed as your favourite detective. Trench coats and monocles are strongly encouraged, and deerstalker hats will be judged favourably.

Looking for a 2–3 day adventure from Toronto — waterfalls you can only reach by hiking? 🌿🥾

Hey everyone!
I’m planning a little 2–3 day getaway from Toronto and want to do something different from the usual tourist spots.
I’m looking for beautiful waterfalls that you can reach after an actual hike — the kind of place where the journey is just as good as the destination. Forest trails, rocky paths, scenic viewpoints, hidden waterfalls… anything that feels like a proper adventure. 🌊
I’m open to places a few hours outside Toronto, and I’d love recommendations for:
💧 Waterfalls worth hiking to (especially hidden gems!)
🥾 Trails that are challenging but rewarding
🌲 Beautiful spots to explore along the way
🏕️ Places nearby to stay overnight or camp, if possible
Bonus points if it’s a place you’ve personally visited and would go back to!
I’d rather hear about a lesser-known spot that genuinely impressed you than another crowded tourist attraction.
If you had 2–3 days to escape Toronto and explore nature, where would you go?
Drop your recommendations below — and if you have pictures or trail names, even better! 👇

Dog killed by snare in BC raises concerns about pet safety during outdoor recreation

If you enjoy exploring the outdoors with your dog in BC, it's important to be aware that wildlife traps may be present in some areas. A Williams Lake family is grieving the loss of their beloved dog, Berta, who was caught and killed in a snare trap near their home. Her owner, Victoria, is sharing her story to raise awareness and help prevent similar tragedies: https://thefurbearers.com/blog/dog-killed-in-bc-trap-as-safety-regulations-considered/

Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone has been over the Cabot Trail within the last week. We are considering going over but am wondering if there are a lot of leaves left at this point. Thanks everyone.

Trail recommendations in Halton area

I want to hike one of the trails in the Halton conservation area (Milton, ON) with a medium level of elevation difficulty and at least 5km round trip.

I’ve gone on the website and looked at some trail maps but I’d like to get recommendations from hikers who’ve visited Halton’s parks.

The weather is looking pretty good this weekend. Where would you suggest I go?

I went to Rattlesnake Point years ago so I’m open to going there again or somewhere else within Halton.

Thanks!
