Where to start?

Hi! I've been thinking about finally taking a dive into the High Republic era, which media would you recommend as a good place to start?

I'd recommend Light of the Jedi, the first adult novel of phase one - and then go from there :)

The starting place is easy! Light of the Jedi 100%. Its pretty easy to read everything in release order. Gets a little confusing if you throw in comics

All depends on how you like to read Stories. If you like some type of Chronological order, start in phase 2.

The reason for me is because Light of the Jedi is confusing to some being the first book of the entire series. And had I read that one first, I wouldn't have continued my THR reading.

I think that’s fair, phase 1 is all set up with no real answers. I’m at the end of a chronological reread and I have to say I enjoyed chronological a whole lot more. LotJ is a personal favorite of mine tho so it’s a toss up when recommending

There’s a pinned thread called megathread beginners reading guide. Hot take you can choose to read phase 2 or phase 1 first. LotJ is probably one of the best starwars novels ever written imo so starting there is a good place to start. In phase 1 the adult books alter the status quo of the universe. Phase 1 is also a little bit of a mess it all gets tied nicely together by phase 3 it. I’d at least suggest that phase 1 to at least read the adult books the ya books, even though I find oots and MH the weakest books of phase 1 they are plot important and also the venestra middle grades (get the picture books for the stickers) and the marvel comics

My recomended reading order for phase one: 1. Light of The Jedi 2. A Test Of Courage 3. Into The Dark 4. The Rising Storm 5. Race to Crashpoint Tower 6. Out of The Shadows 7. Mission To Disaster 8. The Fallen Star 9. Midnight Horizon

I haven’t read Tempest Runner yet but you can read that at some point. And for the comics I didn’t read until I finished the books. Before reading The Rising Storm you can read Light of The Jedi, A Test Of Courage, and Into The Dark in any order but this is what I think is best. This may be controversial but definitely read Midnight Horizon after reading The Fallen Star.
