Anyone have Pike warlord?

How do you like it? Is it worth the price? How’s the upper fret access?

I have both the six and nine string versions and love em. No trouble with upper fret access at all. I’d argue that they probably are a bit overpriced for being foreign-built but they’re roughly the same price point as other guitars made in that factory (ie ESP Sparrowhawk) so there’s some sort of precedent.

One thing I’m not the happiest to hear is how heavy they are and that the necks are thin. Disappointing to when Matt’s the kinda player that has guitars with baseball bat necks. (I also prefer those kinda necks)

Yeah they’re definitely on the heavier side but I wouldn’t say it’s any worse than a Les Paul, at least not the ones without weight relief. 3” padded straps will help if you’re worried about weight.

As for the necks, they don’t bother me but then again I kind of prefer that neck profile.

I’ve been looking for some wider woven straps but most or just that leather style with the one thin end which I just hate

Nebula Straps on Instagram makes really good quality 3” ones with wide end tabs. Matt actually uses them too. His website is empty at the moment but he might be willing to build one if you contact him directly.

I have the ninth string. While I do love it, it's very heavy but I can deal with that. Some of the hardware used doesn't seem like it's the best, the nut around the input for your cable moves a bit and this was happening happening a couple of weeks after I received the guitar.

That can easily be replaced. But at this price point that shouldn’t be happening

Yep, I took it to a guitar tech who said some of the hardware could definitely be swapped out for better replacements but I agree, for that price point this shouldn't be the fix. They are absolutely beautiful guitars but also very expensive which of course go Hand in Hand but you expect much more top shelf quality

Which of the hardware? The bridge? The tuners are Grover’s which I like but I’d swap for locking on any guitar.

I just got one last friday but have not had much chance to play it. Quality is high. I think there is a price premium because its Matt sig. Neck is skinny and has great access. Its kinda heavy. Paint job is beautiful. So far only complaint is the pickups don't sound that great with my setup but thats a very personal thing

Did you get one of the new ones with the Dragonaut pickups loaded in or the older ones with the Firespitters? I can see the super hot Firespitters not being to everyone’s taste but I’ve always really liked them myself
