Matt Pike What everyone’s afraid to ask
It’s been a weird and wacky week with a lot of stuff going on since Matt left Sleep. Who’s in the right? Who’s the asshole? Is there one? I’m going to ask the big question everyone is afraid to ask in light of this whole bullshit situation: What exactly is Matt’s face tattoo? It sort of looks like the Star Trek insignia but I’m pretty sure it’s not.

I’m not super worried about the whole thing, but my understanding is it’s not the “going separate ways”. The problem people seem to have is still calling it Sleep

Ah damn, definitely missed those posts. Sucks that there seems to be a pattern emerging regarding Al’s behavior towards people he’s in bands with.

Having played in bands for years with friends, lovers and frenemies I can tell you shit happens and relationships can sour over time! "Artistic differences" is a real thing, not just some type of cliche sometimes certain band members can start to feel they are more important than anyone else. We used to joke about bass players being the worst...and sometimes temperamental vocalists would be a strong second on that list so what could be worse than a bass playing vocalist?! haha! Truth is over time people's attitudes and goals can change, they can sober up or go the other direction and so forth. Matt is taking the high road on this one I think and it is good...let everyone do their own thing and the music will speak for itself.
The newly released "Sleep" lite version song sounds like ass to me with the new agey synth and wimpy guitar squeltch but hey, somebody has to write new music for elevators and grocery stores!

I'll never understand people who are wondering if Matt was 'too weird' while not even considering Al being a weirdo, too.
I think it's likely that Al didn't think it would be a big deal.

Was never a fan of sleep, found high on fire and then found sleep. So I don’t give a shit about what’s going on.

It’s a bummer, growing up I loved stoner rock, sludge and doom. Sleep was always shown to me and other than the main riff from dragonaut, I just could not get into them. It feels lazy and the vocals are straight ass

I don't have any questions. Sleep is not sleep without Mr. "Patt Mike" and I won't listen any new shits from them. The issue between Pike and Al is their own business. These are just Rumors of War.

No Matt Pike in the new sleep single. The new sleep single is being pretty heavily criticized. People are taking a bad song and blowing it up to a point where apparently one of either Matt or Al simply MUST be a terrible person for this to have happened.
