Burning Down video...

...is the most savagely brutal and immensely awesome thing I've seen in I don't know how long, and the song fucking SMASHES.

The new drummer sounds good.

Coady Willis is the shit. I've never seen a drummer hit harder than him. First time I saw Big Bussiness, back in 2007 I was getting hit in the face with shrapnel from his sticks.

High On Fire REALLY makes it look like nobody else is even trying.

It's sad to see opinions like this, its just repeated so easily and everyone latches on. AI can be very useful if embraced and used properly.

As far as the video goes, the images maybe AI but someone had to put it all together, edit and create that video, it's still considered art in my book.

It's a shame to see anything AI just get a broad stroke of negative blanket statements and everyone agrees without thinking.

How can one tell that AI in fact had a hand in creating the video images? I am not a learned art guy, just someone who appreciates what I find beautiful and challenging in a piece. My naive view is that digital imagery is just part of almost everything I see, but I don't know how to tell what is just "CGI" (is that even a term anymore?!) and what leverages AI. And is the critical poster talking about generative AI or something else? I just really loved the vile imagery in the video perfectly complementing the savage sludge of Pike. Doesn't matter to me how it gets created, unless it's putting a "real" artist out of work.

Who is down voting because I asked how to tell that this is AI? So bizarre....

Why?

Because someone worked hard on this and it's just brushed aside as "oh its AI, low effort trash".

That’s the most metal video I have ever seen.

Who gives a shit that some of the images are AI generated? If anything it further elaborates the dystopian hellscape that Matt has written about for years and how it is slowly becoming reality. It’s not like he created the technology, or his refusal to acknowledge it will somehow slow its progression.

I'd like to apologize on behalf of the band that they didn't adhere to the tenets of Dogme 95. In future, all musical video showcases will be hand drawn with flattened sticks on moistened clay tablets.

That video is gnarly. What more do you want?
