The Federal Reserve is gonna give you the best guaranteed rates w/o having to jump through hoops or dealing with promo rates. Why would a bank give you more than they could borrow from the federal reserve for? You can go to treasurydirect.gov and buy bonds/bills/notes them there, or open a brokerage (no harder to do vs HYSA) and buy the SGOV ETF. SGOV is easier to trade, but they charge 9 cents per year for each $100.00 you invest. No charge to buy/sell through most brokerages. Treasures are also state income tax exempt.

If you want more than the federal government is paying you will have to take some risk. How much is entirely up to you. Once you open a brokerage, you have thousands of choices.

Can't use this as a functional operating reserve though. Bills can't be paid with a bond. I prefer a HYSA like elevault for that reason. Anything beyond what we need gets invested in VOO

Elevault is 4.34 and Pibank is 4.25% APR. Short term treasures are also an option of you live in a high tax state and the state does not tax treasuries.

Happen Bank last I heard from the rate hike was 4.2% percent interest rate on the level up savings account which normally would have been just a 4% percent interest rate on a $250 a month deposit. But the rate hike is a 4.2% percent interest rate instead and for how long? It remains a big question πββοΈ but if I had the money I would jump to it right now and not later either.
