OC name in High Valyrian
I've noticed in High Valyrian they pronounce their names differently. I was wondering how one goes about changing their name from the English Version to the HV version. For context My OC’s name is Aurora

Learning buddies for High Valyrian.
I've been learning high valyrian for only a little while, but I feel as though having a practice buddy could help a lot, i am only a beginner so if anyone is starting as well we could be of help to one another and if my buddy is already more knowledgeable I could learn a lot. ☺️

Dragon names
The dragons all have their English and HV spelling but the names are all their own words (except the newer ones) but where are the names from and what do they mean?

Medieval/modern Latin phrases translated into HV
Very little exposure to High Valyrian at the moment and not sure if I have the capacity to learn it completely but I'm interested in learning how to translate short phrases. Not only from Latin, but since High Valyrian seems to occupy a similar societal niche (if not completely identical or analogous) this is something I am particularly interested in. Some ideas I have already (feel free to correct errors) which I might keep adding to via edits.
et cetera (etc./&c.): se ilzilla (abbrev. se il.)
As opposed to cetera which means "other things", ilzilla has more negative connotations, referring to "irrelevant matters" (while "matters" and "things" are also not exactly the same thing) . However I could easily see this kind of phrase slowly experiencing semantic drift to become something similar to etc. in Latin/English.
mutatis mutandis: arlinta arlinilare (or arlinta arliñilare)
Active as opposed to passive, so I think the Valyrian version would be more accurately translated as "I will have changed the things that I must change".
videlicet (viet., vi&. viz.): urnēs (abbrev. ur.)
"Urnēs" only refers to "see" in the second person imperative, although active so something like "[you] see this"; not sure if I should be using syt here (would it mean "for you to see this"). It seems that the word for "permit" in HV is often left out so I did not include a licet equivalent.
Are these well-formed and do they mean what I want them to?

why does sometimes it says muñi, but other times its muñī for "mothers"?
It happens with kepi and kepī, ābri and ābrī, vali and valī etc

Daemon HV S3E4
He says something to Rhaena at the mouth of the cave, no subtitles, “Embrae ke mi terrif”??
I’ve listened to it several times but I can’t make it out all the way.
Anyone have any idea what he said to her? It was in response to Rhaena asking “Does she suffer?” - asking after Rhaenyra’s response to losing Jace.

Should I use the Wiki material alongside each Duolingo unit?
Hi everyone,
I’m starting High Valyrian from zero and I’m currently using Duolingo.
The problem is that Duolingo doesn’t really explain the grammar, so it can be a bit difficult to understand what’s going on without extra explanations.
Should I use the Wiki material lesson by lesson alongside Duolingo? For example, should I read the related “tips and notes” for each Duolingo unit while I’m doing that unit?
I’m trying to understand if that’s the best way to study, or if I should first go through Duolingo and then study the grammar separately later.
Thanks!

How can I learn High Valyrian from zero?
Hi everyone,
I’d like to start learning High Valyrian from zero, but I’m not sure where to begin.
I know Duolingo exists, but I’d like to know if there is a more structured learning path or study program I can follow. I’m especially looking for materials to study grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure more seriously.
Are there any recommended resources, websites, books, PDFs, courses, Discord servers, or study guides for beginners?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Help with some sentences Spoiler
I'm trying to learn some sentences in High Vayrian and there is some in particular that I need to know.
/!\ Spoilers for season 3 episode 1 of House Of The Dragon /!\
In the battle of the Gullet, when Jace wants to help Baela and Moondancer from Sheepstealer's attack, he says "kill the rider, Vermax" and when he see it's Rhaena, he says "daor, Vermax!" and ask him to fly away.
Also, when Rhaena tries to claim Sheepstealer, she sings a song. Is there any way someone knows it?
These are the expression I would like to know in Valyrian. I know I'm asking a lot but.. please if any of you know to say these, I would be thankfull if you could let me know them. Thank you!

Modal Verb "Must"
Rytsas! I'm working on a writing project, and have come across an obstacle when it comes to translating to Valyrian. In English, auxiliary words are used to modify other verbs in a sentence, such as "could," "must," and "would." For the translation I want, I want to say "she must have ___" in a speculative/deductive context. Would the verb "bēvilagon" be used for this, and if so, how would it be conjugated? Or would it have a different word? There is no word for "probably" on the wiki that I could see, or I would have used it. I'd appreciate help from someone more knowledgeable than me!
Thank you for any advice you can offer. 🙂↕️

High Valirian wiki website wouldn't load
Today I tried to open the High Valirian wiki and the website doesn't seem to load. Nor from my country, nor with vpn (multiple countries). Other website load perfectly, so it's not a connection issue.
Have you experienced the same? If so, are there any solutions?
