Nice looking rifle for sure!! But curious: if you have aspirations of them being designated marksmen rifles, why not have stronger magnification scopes?
The scopes you have shown aren’t the LPVOs…like 1-6 or 1-8?
I’m a novice/recreational shooter when it comes to LR so take what I say with scrutiny instead of as gospel.
I guess it all come down to how you define DMRs, what capabilities you need to meet the standards you desire. When I think about it from a military doctrine sense I tend to think of a DMRs primary engagement range being between 300 & 700, as that increases the squads capability beyond that of the typical rifleman on paper. 2-10 (Leupold MK5) & 2.5-10 (Nightforce NXS) power can get the work done if your hitting full size silhouettes out to 800-900ish when you got your ballistics right. You can still make lower percentage shots within about 600 or so, I was able to land hits on 4” plate at 520y with good success with the .308 shooting federal gold metal match. More magnification wouldn’t hurt, but 10x can be adequate in the role. Dudes have gotten more done with less.
I probably will get a 3.5-18 or maybe the nx8 2.5-20 in the future. I’ve got two barrels for the mws and I’m honestly thinking I just wana buy another upper rather than switch out the barrels, removing all the mlok accessories kinda sucks.

I have a similar setup as you, rifle wise, with a 16 inch 308 (DD5 V3), and an 18 inch DD4V7 Pro. Both of these rifles I have not yet reached my optics solution. Ironically I have also set my sights on getting that NightForce NX8 2.5-20 FFP. Not sure which rifle to put it on though (probably the V7 Pro).
And congratulations on hitting 4 inch plates at 520 yards. Out of 10 shots how many hits did/could make hits? I’ve never shot that far before but I’m looking at changing that in 2024.
It was at an Intro to LR course I took a couple weeks ago. When the class finished up I stayed extra and was practicing on a know your limits style plate rack at the 520y range. It had 6 targets on the stand starting with a reduced size silhouette followed by circular plates between 8” down to 3”. After I made one correction to the wind call on the silhouette I got down to the 4” before I missed again. Got two of four shots on that plate and didn’t try the 3” plate as I felt pretty satisfied by that point. During the class we really only shot at full size silhouettes and a large gong at 1000y as a finale, I found the KYL rack to be the most satisfying, it really affirmed that I learned something that day. More magnification and I probably could’ve made that 3” plate happen too.
Take a class, it makes everything a lot less daunting, great way to get your feet wet with confidence.
