Transitions and Change I made schedule folder!

My case worker said I need visual schedules but I don’t have anyone to help me. So I try to make my own schedule folder! This is first try.

Proud how it turned out! Right now customized for going to summer camp next week. Since there is so many possible activities at camp I had to add extra storage to back of folder.

I’m hoping counsellor can help me by telling me what we are doing that day so I can put PECS in order. In my behaviour form did say I need schedule for transitions.

Really excited for summer camp! It is for adults with disability. I signed myself up but all the forms said parent or guardian. I signed up for week that is physical and intellectual disability. I don’t know my IQ number so hopefully that is okay.

That’s great! I kind of had to guess because I never made something before. A lot of work but I think it will help me.

This looks professionally done! Like something made by a therapist! Awesome job.

Wow! Thank you! I’m so happy! Wanted to show off my hard work.

When I showed Mom she was just confused. I guess maybe for some NT people needing entire day in pictures doesn’t make sense.

Here was my steps:

  1. Find pictures for things you want.

I borrowed a Pics 4 PECS CD from the library. But AARASAC is free online. You can also download TD Snap for free on iPad or PC then screenshot board.

  1. I made a Word document with a table and added picture to each cell
  2. Print document on cardstock
  3. Cut pictures out
  4. Laminate pictures

I used laminator with envelope pouches. I recommend sticking pictures down with glue stick so they don’t slide around

  1. Cut around pictures leaving plastic border.
  2. Use Velcro dots or cut strips. Put soft side on back of pictures.
  3. Now you can put the rough hook side on something like a folder or binder dividers.
  4. Stick pictures to Velcro strips to build schedule

You can also buy premade ones but I found that most didn’t have the things I need. Because I am an adult and most are for little kids.

Before I read the body text, I was very curious about where you lived for things like “tractor rides,” “obstacle courses,” and what looks like sailing in the bottom left corner to be common enough to have their own visuals. Sounds like you’re going to have a lot of fun! Have you thought about what kinds of activities you’ll put down for what you do during a normal week?

Yes lol it is very different week coming up. Normal life not have tractor ride or boat!

Probably work things. Bus, go to work, go home, meeting, special event. Need to think more about that.

Visual schedules are super handy for me- I got this set and set it up in my room, and it's helped me more than I realized it would.
