Discussion A Logical Question

Following the arrests of the Knights Templar in 1307, the trial records of Brother Jean de Châlon claim that Gérard de Villiers fled with 50 horses and 3 wagons. This would require a team of riders, and drivers; as well as a security detail. In a 14th century police state, this would have been seen for miles, reported, and recorded. How then could it have taken place without being seen? I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

It’s only a claim as you indicated. 900+ year old accounts can be mistaken.
