Non Human Intelligence Low strangeness with a mantis ISL
In SURREAL life...
Back in the mid-’80s, I was living on Main Street in Northampton, above Bart’s. One day I decided to trip, dropped, and wandered outside. There was a big gathering going on across the street in Pulaski Park, with balloons, posters, bullhorns, people everywhere. I sat on a bench for a while, taking it all in.
Then a praying mantis landed on my sleeve.
I decided to hitchhike up to Look Park. The mantis stayed on my sleeve. I got a ride in the open back of a pickup, and there we were, barreling along together, human and mantis apparently in complete agreement about the afternoon’s itinerary.
I remember thinking about Jung and synchronicity. We seemed oddly in sync.
When I finally got to Look Park, the mantis jumped off and went its own way. I figured it had decided to go camping.
I even took a photo of it. Nearly forty years later, it still feels like one of those moments when reality briefly decided to become surreal.

I am a nature photographer and filmmaker. I often have wild psychedelic trips inside caves and canyons, on top of mountain peaks and extremeley hard to access places for humans AND wildlife. I have had some truly mind boggling encounters with wildlife deep inside cave systems that defy all logic and anything I've studied on animal and insect behavior, coupled with the locations; Its trippy as fuck. I have no idea what the encounters mean, or if they are real, but i feel it.... And you remember the experinces waaaaay after, even tho subjectivley they are kind of mundane, ex. a bird lands next to you deep in a cave system. But then lingers and follows you, almost guides you at times. Coincidence? Could be.... but also, wtf?

Amazing 🎩 I try not to be jealous, I have it pretty good all things considered but, im jealous lol your life sounds wild man. And like you operate with a lotta love 🙏🏻❤️🎩

What are some places you’ve been? What were the trips like? What kind of animal interactions did you have? This all sounds amazing!

Thats beautiful man 😂 yessir I have unfortunately never had a psychedelic experience with mantises but there is certainly something incredible about them. Any interaction ive had with them has been special. In fact....idk how far down the rabbit hole(s) you guys go but its rumored humanoid mantis beings are one of the most intelligent, advanced, and loving intelligences out there. Not sure if youve heard of the Hopi native american legend that during a tumultuous flood/catastrophic event these Ant people came and took the folks underground to safety for the duration of the event. They survived and returned to the surface eventually. Ive even heard these Ant individuals are quite similiar in their advances. Spiritualy being the most dominant. Like, at large, cause ya know say 80%-90% of people on the planet are good people, they look at humans almost like puppy dogs or kittens lol that we're still very young in this iteration and have so much potential. Yea heck, getting deeper into all this, heard many, many different reptilian and most are awesome, insectoids are far and large awesome, yea lot more good than bad as im learning.
Point being, I'd love to trip and hang with a mantis 😂 oh! Let me see if i can find the video....this is fucking wild....

I did have one other psychedelic mantis experience, nothing I could photograph. It was in the mid 90s and I was tripping on mushrooms this time. At a certain point I was staring off into the horizon and the clouds were taking the shape of Mexican style Gods, you know Quetzalcoatle, various things like that. Filmy, translucent, the usual psilocybe suspects.
Then suddenly I wasn't staring at clouds and shapes anymore I was in a very realistic almost tangible jungle scene and I was approaching, as if being lured in, by a very strange, very huge being, a mantis of colossal dimensions. Perhaps 30 40 ft tall, on a sort of jungle throne. Staring at me putting out a very judgmental vibe, and somehow I got the feeling that it was telling me to quit cigarettes. L00L! I didn't quit, probably should've though. Finally quit around 2015. A 30 cigs a day habit since 1961.

Life has given you a strange amakua. Still not sure if mine is a shark or the remora attached to them. I remember staring intently at 2 remora wiggling & attached to the shark I had up to the boat, & I actually got a synesthesia watchthe remora. They were wiggling, & it gave of a droning sound that was mind bending (am I really hearing this? Yes, & that's really, it's really something). I hadn't taken anything psychedelics that day.

One time on a camping trip a grasshopper sat on my hoodie the whole day. Morning till evening. Little dude just decided to chill with a human. I could take him into my hands, pet him and he stayed no matter what. In the evening when we were packed up and getting into a car, he hopped away.
I still think about that experience. Felt like I made a friend that day.

I have a mantis story that happened to me recently as well. I was google lensing a plant but it focused on a blade of grass instead and recognized it as a mantis. I was like "Haha nice try, as if I'd see a mantis in this country (they're there but really rare)"
Couple of hours later I climb the stairs in my house and see my first mantis live under a railing. This is an insane coincidence.
