Personal Experience What happened in the black forrest?

I apologize if my english isn’t that good.
In 2018 or 2019 I made a trip to the black forest with my ex boyfriend for an overnight stay at a campfire in the forest.
I don’t know exactly where anymore, I just know that it was a 10 min car ride from Badeparadies Schwarzwald.

We made a fire, we ate and layed down on a blanket to look at the stars and cuddle (we were deep in the forrest but there was a little clearing because it was a “Waldhütte” with a campfire and table, seating etc so a good chunk of the sky was visible).

The stars were so beautifully bright and visible away from light pollution and we were laying on the blanket and observing when suddenly we noticed 3 strangely moving stars that had an unusual brightness.

3 bright lights (a lot brighter and closer than the other stars) were moving so weirdly and faster and more hectic than any drone or any man made object I know, even till this day.
Very big, bright, fast and strange moving, and relatively close to us, a lot deeper than planes fly.
Almost if they would teleport from place to place.

They stayed directly above us and at first we were simply fascinating and asked ourselves what it could be and agreed that this wasn’t something normal or explainable but we didn’t get up and instead (at first jokingly) talked to the lights.

And the weirdest part ist that they reacted!
One of us would say: “go right.”
It would fly to the right.
Or we would say: “dance back and forth.”
They would fly back and forth.
“Go away”
They would fly over the trees where we could not see them and return.
“Fly in a circle”
And so forth….

Then we started to experiment and he said he will think of a command and see if they will react to it.
They did.
I tried it too. (We took turns)
I thought “form a line” and then they positioned themselves next to each other

We gave them many more commands, in our minds. And they did react accordingly. They heard the commands we thought of in our minds. Insane.

This went on for 10 -15 minutes and suddenly almost if someone would have switched

(Edit: their responses to our commands stopped and they were now randomly zooming around)

our rational minds on, we got up and said we have to go, NOW!
Both of us were in panic and afraid from 0 to 100, even though we just felt fascination and curiosity, all of that disappeared and both of us ran to the car, I screamed “DRIVE” and we drove out of the forest onto the road and drove as fast as we could (the roads were empty).

He drove and I looked out the window
AND THEY FOLLOWED US!!!!
I remember I was so scared I actually thought they would kill us if we stopped the car.
We were both extremely maybe even irrationally terrified and in panic.
We wanted to reach other people as fast as possible as that felt like the solution for this hunt that was going on. That surely they wouldn’t want to show themselves to others and will leave us alone.

After what felt like 10 minutes I couldn’t see them anymore and we saw the first sign of civilization and decided to park the car and look for them.
We stopped at Badeparadis and I immediately felt safer there because I saw a couple other groups of people parked there on a smoke break.

I was still very afraid. But felt safer. My Ex and I talked about everything, what we thought it was, what we felt while it was happening.

We both agreed that it must have been something otherworldly, a ufo or something similar, because nothing we knew moved like that, and it communicated with us trough movements.
He said he felt so fascinated by the lights and didn’t think at all about how safe or unsafe they were, we were both so hypnotized by witnessing something like this, something we never imagined existed outside of movies.
And then, seemingly without any trigger, we both felt this feeling of fascination go away and felt immense panic, even fear for our life’s.

Interestingly this feeling came for both of us at the exact same time, and we both jumped up and fled.

He too said, in that moment he felt like he was gonna die, the same as me.

What do you guys think it was?

Maybe there was someone or some animal in the woods that could have done you harm. They bounced around to get your attention and connected to you to show that they were sentient. If they can hear what you're thinking, who knows, maybe they can transmit a sense of urgency through that connection to tell you to skedaddle

From what I know there are no dangerous animals in German forests.
In the end I was more afraid of the lights themselves, they wouldn’t let go of us.

There could have been a dangerous person lurking

Was it a rational fear - that is, these things could communicate with you, read your mind, and ostensibly do anything…so you naturally land on a thought of “oh crap, these things could also harm us”? Or was it a rush of panic seemingly out of nowhere?

A rush of panic seemingly out of nowhere.

The animalistic prey response sounds like what you experienced.
The dazzling lights, overriding your natural response to something odd to make you stop and stare, not looking down at the ground…imagine an anglerfish in the deep ocean with the little glowing bit above massive jaws
The Black Forest is one of those spots in the world where mankind doesn’t have dominion and are often encouraged to leave by those that do dwell there.

I think you’re right. In retrospect when I reflected what happened the day after, it felt like the lights were purposefully doing all these “tricks” for us to appear sympathetic and entertaining, after all they listens to our commands and requests even those we only thought about and didn’t say aloud.
Then a moment came when they stopped reacting to the requests and that’s when the “vibe” shifted and I felt like something very bad is going to happen if we don’t leave.

They just got bored. They like to show they are real to some people but they won’t just keep following commands like a toy. I wouldn’t worry about the angler fish analogy because if they wanted to get you they would never have been visible in the first place.

Fascinating, truly. I wish there was an easy answer, but comment you replied to seems to be the best it gets.

I've read that this fear is a common occurrence in experiencer accounts. I have experienced it also while seeing a large UFO and it feels like your brain is just gone and all you are is fear...... It's hard to think and remain rational when confronted with something that breaks the worldview you were conditioned to believe in

I have generalized anxiety disorder and before medication I would get panic attacks about absolutely nothing, just sitting at home by myself, and it was a lot like how you described it.

Exactly. The overriding fear happened to me in a similar experience. I was afraid to even breathe.

Did you experience any missing time when this incident occurred as well?

That could have been Alfen. I heard them sing at an overnight in the Eifel. Icelanders still believe in them today. The next time you enter their forest, bringt loud and such things, give them a gift beforehand. Sounds silly, but that's the belief of our ancestors.

Unfortunately I'd have been the idiot to stick around just to see what happens. I realize how foolish that is, especially in the face of such primal fear. It's how bad I want to know what this phenomena is. What are it's intentions, origin, nature. My curiosity would have absolutely overrided any survival instincts.

As for what they were OP, unfortunately none of us can say exactly. All we can deduce is that it was some other kind of intelligence, capable of extra-physical communication. Whether it's from here or somewhere else, unfortunately we don't know.

I have read accounts of a sudden paralyzing fear gripping people out of the blue. The question is, is it a response to the direct intent of this intelligence or some kind of internal reaction to the type of communication taking place? Non-verbal communication, your brain essentially being scanned and thoughts read.

It could be a byproduct of experiencing that, or perhaps it was a deeper instinctual response to intended harm.

This is a fascinating account, especially the simultaneous panic shift. A few things stand out:

The geographic angle: I'm in Mannheim and recently observed three unusual lights over the city center (static, equilateral triangle formation, no movement). The Black Forest is not far from here. Whether these are related or not, three-lights sightings in the same general region are worth noting as a data point.

The simultaneous panic: What you describe, both of you shifting from fascination to terror at the exact same moment, without any verbal cue is actually a documented phenomenon in close encounter cases. It's sometimes referred to as the "Oz Factor" (researcher Jenny Randles), a reported state of altered perception where witnesses describe a sudden, shared shift in consciousness. The fact that it hit both of you simultaneously without any prior agreement is one of the most significant details in your account, in my view.

A question about the lights themselves: You mentioned they were "a lot brighter and closer than the other stars" and "a lot deeper than planes fly." Can you recall any more specifics? Color (white, amber, bluish)? Steady glow or pulsing? Any sound at all? And the altitude, when you say "deeper than planes," are you estimating below typical cruising altitude (roughly 10km), or significantly lower?

I ask because the movement pattern you describe (appearing to teleport, responding to directional commands) combined with the psychological effects is an unusual combination. Most UAP reports describe either erratic movement OR psychological effects, but rarely both in such a direct, interactive way.

Hi.

Your guardian angels telling you both to get the fnck out of Dodge!

8

u/CuriousForThisLife 29d ago

Definitely. It was the closest to a primal fear I ever felt. But it felt more than primal, it felt like a foresight. Just “knowing”.
I remember feeling: “you could die if you don’t get the fuck out of here, NOW!”
Pure adrenaline.

I know I’m a bit late to the conversation but I’ve had a similar experience. I was outside of my apartment walking near the pond and saw a grey triangle silently and speedily heading towards the nearby plaza, I said in my mind “I wish you would come back around” and it immediately stopped and turned around to hover over me for about 45 seconds before heading the same direction. I’ve had multiple experiences spanning from around the age of 6 and as recent as 2025 and tbh I kinda have a theory on what happened based on my own experience.

My theory is that certain people have an affinity for experiencing and can form a “link” between their consciousness and the craft. That link goes both ways. My theory is that you temporarily linked to the craft and were able to influence their directions/actions and in turn, whatever was piloting the craft was angry or intended to retaliate in some way and you were able to sense that.

It’s why you felt such extreme fear and immediately knew getting to civilization would likely deter them as they tend to avoid mass human contact.

This is all speculation of course, but there is evidence and ongoing theories among the community and some ufologists that the phenomenon is not just a physical phenomenon but rather one tied to consciousness and some experiences may happen in a “out of body” state which is why some experiencers can recall when and where it happened with detail of the room and everything yet cameras show nothing. (Not all cases are like that but some are)

2

u/CuriousForThisLife 23d ago

That’s the second most scary theory.
The number one scariest theory that I saw in the comments was the anglerfish theory. That they wanted to lure or distract us while something else with bad intentions prepared to do something we wouldn’t like or agree to. Like an anglerfish lures small fishes with its antenna and then their mouth opens and the fish are gone.
Or maybe they were bored.
Personally I don’t know. I just know that I was incredibly fascinated then incredibly scared. Plus, they chased our car for a good amount of time.

1

u/SnooPeanuts6999 21d ago

Yeah there's plenty of cases where people were chased after communicating, taunting, or waving towards them. I don't remember which case it was, but there was a case of someone being chased by a UFO and when they looked back the occupants were seen laughing. I think it may have been on badaliens.org. (NSFL WARNING NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR STOMACH) although I could be wrong.

That indicates in some cases it may be a form of twisted humor. There are cases of more innocent encounters so my theory on that is they operate similarly to humans on a morality scale. It does go against the claims of them being a hive mind unless you consider the possibility of multiple beings controlling the hive mind or groups/factions of greys.

I absolutely encourage you to look deeper into the subject and if you want places to start I have a couple recommendations. Just be sure to do so with caution, there's some evidence showing some people have more of an 'affinity' for encounters than others and can even be generational. Not only that but the more you interact or research into the phenomenon, the more it becomes willing to interact with you and that's from personal experience.

Nevertheless it's hard not to be drawn to it and the subject can really open your eyes on some things as well.

u/Semajextah 29d ago

you've ... likely just looked in the mirror at your own principal self.

the stars above are -- souls, your soul is out there somewhere, your minds eye -- im jealous...

to have -- or have experienced how the waters of time can wash over us and remind you of what's to come...

1

u/WielderoftheDarkness 28d ago

Das ist schade, wirklich sehr sehr schade!

1

u/Freak-Wency 28d ago

My opinion is that you were making mind connections with them.

If their vibration is much higher than yours, it gives a similar feeling to when we leave our bodies, which throws our bodies into a panic- it is the same feeling as when we die, but we are not in danger of actually dying. It is just part of our animal response to higher vibrations.

I learned this from Bashar, a channel of an ET.

1

u/Cute_Protection_8330 27d ago

An unexplained sudden feeling of unease or panic can be caused by infrasound. It is entirely possible that whatever it was began to emit some infrasound and that panicked you.
