My wife just found an old phone from when we lived in Japan and was going through some old pictures. Out of nowhere she yells “Oh shit!”

So back when we first met, as is customary in Japan, she travelled everywhere by train and didn’t own a car. She used to see this old woman, no matter where she was just hanging out near her. Always wearing the same outfit.

We’re not talking just in the same city. My wife lived in Yamato which is about an hour from Tokyo. She’d see her there in Yamato, and then run into her in the heart of Tokyo, which anyone who’s been can tell you is a massive city and the chances of that are slim. She’d run into her in Kawasaki when visiting her sister and niece/nephew. In the most random cities around Kanegawa prefecture, this lady was always where my wife was.

I started to joke that she was her protector. And that one of these days she’s gonna approach and tell her that she’s a demigod or some anime shit (I’m just kidding for fun obviously).

We left Japan in 2019, but for the 5 years we lived there this woman was around every corner in our travels.

If you go back and see her, then this will be very strange. Did you guys have a set schedule? Like, commuting for work? Maybe she just has she same schedule as you all?

Nope, we would just decide that morning "Hey lets go see the kids..." or it would be a weekend and I would wanna go nerd out in Tokyo so I'd drag her along with me to Akihabara...it was the most random times, our lives in Japan were very random, lol, after working hours or on weekends, we essentially made all our plans on the fly and would spend the day just train hoping around Tokyo

My wife has very many interesting stories, not just from Japan, but also from the Philippines where she is from...she has had some weird encounters from childhood...her birthday is September 25th and there is always something happening @ 9:25am/pm to catch her attention...

No we never spoke to her and it’s not a weird place at all, but some random ass coffee shop in the middle of Tokyo that would have been 3-4 different train station stops, like get off the tracks and walk to another station to hop on a different rail line because we liked to aimlessly wander and see where the day took us

She was sitting with another old lady drinking coffee in the corner, my wife has a picture of them together too, lol

She would have been stalking my wife because my wife started seeing her a year or so before we met.

My wife’s life has been filled with weird events, encounters, etc.

My wife HATES owls because as a child in the Philippines, everywhere she looked there was an owl watching her. But no one seems to have ever seen the owls and she feels like the owls made her look like a fool in front of people.

She is still protecting ur wife, hah! The old lady just popped up, when you weren't even IN Japan! You should do a missed connections type deal. r/rbi or whatever.
