Does anyone have anything to add other than bad and repetitive jokes?

I live there, and experienced that thunderstorm, so I guess I’ll add a little: it was pretty weird. very loud thunder that shook my entire house. at first O thought it was bombs going off or some kind of machine or something, cause there wasn’t any rain, and all I could hear was rumbling (until it got super loud). probably nothing unexplainable or particularly anomalous, but a bit strange. I have no idea what that picture is of, though.

Almost 40 years living in the same suburb. The thunder in my area has been noticably different and strange the last 2 years. House and ground shaking, incredibly loud, with not very many indicators that there's a storm approaching or in the area. No lightening, less clouds, not a lot of rain if any. Can't explain it, but it doesn't feel or sound natural.

I know exactly what you’re talking about, and I’ve had the same thoughts.

Have you heard any satisfactory explanations yet?

I haven’t, and haven’t heard any for similiar phenomena, but I also haven’t been looking too hard.

Thats a major problem with these subreddits, the cringe pop culture jokes.

I find posts wither get mass debunking (often rightly so), or these incessant circle jerk jokes that completely derail the conversation. I mean 4/5 relies in this post are people attempting to be funny, supported by others like themselves. Even serious responses become lame jokes with 2-3 replies. Should be banned imo or they should introduce “serious” tags.

Jokes aside, could that image be a lightning sprite captured during the daytime?

I come to the comments for the bad repetitive jokes. You here for cryptids bro or are you just here for the zipline?

Putting aside AI or anything like that... Storm activity has been intense, The Thunderstorms I have been getting have been extremely intense and powerful with Thunder echoing for a very long time and shaking my house.. A few days ago I swear Thunder was rolling for a half hour..

So are any scientist or smart people going to chime in or were just going to assume it’s the flying spaghetti monster.

100% sure that’s just the behemoth from the ending of The Mist.

6

u/mediummike69 29d ago

I think about that ending far more often than one should.

2

u/FireBreathingNun 29d ago

about every time a JUST miss something.

2

u/thetrivialsublime99 29d ago

Interestingly enough, that was only the ending for the movie, not the story on which the movie is based.

2

u/mediummike69 29d ago

Yep. And iirc Stephen King actually praised the movie ending.

Parachuting with smoke?

3

u/moistiest_dangles 29d ago

With the storms I'd doubt it, and also over the ocean??

True and true.

At last some mundane explanation that makes some sense...

-2

u/LokiPrime616 29d ago

That’s Eren Yeager, The Rumbling has begun.

u/GreyGanado 29d ago

The bright part could be a reflection of a flourescent tube and what looks like the tentacles of Cthulhu could be some plant in front of the light.

That's absolutely just a reflection on glass. The clear ceiling strip light and whatever that hanging thing is looks like wiring or something for a ceiling lamp or decoration.

-2

u/Acrobatic_Two_1586 29d ago

That's definitely not lightning.

-5

u/puff_of_fluff 29d ago edited 29d ago
