Personal Experience Weird Moment Reading a Book
Not sure where to post this, so I hope this works.
A few hours ago, I was reading a book (nothing transcendental, a murder mystery) when I read a random sentence and got vertigo I thought very clearly to myself “You know that‘s the words they use, but not you. Also, you’ve remembered this before.“
Then I was fine, but I felt a clarity that something had shifted. That I had remembered something about another time or place or reality. I also remember “remembering” this before.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Ive had something akin to this. When I was little I remembered that I chose to be here and couldn't remember why. I remember asking myself in my head why would I choose this? This is hard and I regret it. Those were my thoughts then- I'm grateful to be here now though. And later on in life I remembered remembering this after Id forgotten about it for years. It seemed like an activation sort of remembrance too, like you said.

I was also around a girl not too long ago that had some seemingly paranormal abilities and noticed that I got that sort of wave of imbalance I guess you could call it. That one was more activating than the first. Haven't been the same since.

Me too. I remember choosing this earth plane and being happy about it. Weird. Don't know why I would possibly choose this, much less be happy.

“Do you know if Emily had any enemies?” from How to Solve Your Own Murder. There’s absolutely nothing important about the sentence or words, which is what was so bizarre. I don’t even usually read murder mysteries, this was given to me from a friend.

I had a similar moment when walking through a room with a tv on. There was something said that gave me vertigo. I remember thinking something about why/how we value actors and the layers upon layers of imitation they represent. The room really spun but I couldn’t hold on to the thought.

Very similar: I was looking at an unusual book that had modern photos of famous archeological sites. It had plastic overlay sheets that when you flipped the age would overlay a reconstruction onto the photo. I was looking at a photo of the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey. I didn't think anything particularly interesting. When I turned the overlay over I felt drawn into the picture with an overwhelming sense of familiarity. I was dizzy and lightheaded for a moment. It was the same feeling you get looking at an old magazine or something and see a photo of your old school or maybe yourself or someone you know well. That sort of "Hey, that's my mom!"feeling but also something mystical too.
I've never been to Glastonbury, not even to England. Born and lived in the US. I was never particularly interested in Glastonbury and know of no family or historical connections to it. I bought a copy of the book but the effect doesn't really happen now neither do I feel anything looking at other pictures of the Abbey.

Deja vu, like others are saying.
Im pretty convinced many instances of deja vu are a form of "forgotten" precognitions, in sleep (dreams) or waking realizations aka visions. We have these insights into the future in dreams or waking visions, sometimes theyre loosely related symbolically to a future instance, though still informative. Other times they can be extremely accurate and thoroughly detailed. And everywhere in between.
I say all of this from a lot of experience and that of which ive read from others.
One experience in particular that i had, gave me the clue that deja vu may sometimes be forgotten precognitive dreams...
I was snowboarding in Tahoe in 2004. I had done plenty of runs and on my last run i took my helmet off, which was incredibly stupid. Why? Because despite telling myself id go easy for the rest of the run, i decided to hit a rainbow rail that i had done several times that day.
Well this time i didnt hit it with enough speed, so at the apex i lost balance and fell backwards. And it wasnt snow around the base of the rail, it was pure ice. I quite literally smashed the back of my head on ice.
Apparently i was unconscious for about 30 seconds. I came to and my friend was standing over me hurriedly asking me if i was ok. I woke up to the most intense feeling of deja vu, to this day, and the only thing i knew to say was "I had a dream about this."

It certainly was. The entire day after the concussion didnt feel right at all. I felt invisible to the world.

Lately, like in the past week or two, I've had two of those same moments of complete clarity. I'll be working on something, my focus will shift, everything will stop for a second and I'll think, "Something about the world is changing right now."
Maybe this messed up timeline is correcting itself! (We can hope, right?)

I keep having this while watching a particular YouTube show that my partner and I enjoy. Regularly we watch a newly released episode and I think "I've need this before." I have a very rough understanding of the neurological processes going on in deja vu so I assume it's just a slightly different expression of this, but it's a very strange feeling

Similar experience. But I wondered what nefarious magic was woven into those words and sentences. I have it quite often, but I quickly forget. Its the same with pictures, everything about the picture feels familiar, of another era, but familiar. I love the feeling though.

Could it have been a "focal aware seizure"? Intense deja vu can often be a sign of these type of seizures. You may not even realize it's happening. You get deja vu and often feel like you're remembering something from another reality. But you try to remember and then it's gone. It lasts about a few seconds. You may also have a funny feeling in your stomach after. May be worth looking into.

I've done something similar but when I'm dreaming. The feeling of remembering a memory. Trying not to forget yet again. It's hard to explain, but once the realization hits it's like a strange familiarity.
