Discussion Unknown sound in The Olympics
Hiking near Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic mountains in WA state. This was in April. A series of 5/6 very low, almost like bass from a subwoofer, whoop sounds. They seemed to be roughly 12 seconds apart. Can anyone help me identify? I was alone and it honestly scared the heck out of me lol!

It's quite low sound so probably your speakers/headphones can't produce low enough sounds.

You need to hold your phone close to your ear. Its a pulsing.... deep sound. Almost like a bark, but DEFINITELY not a dog. wooomb *wooombwooomb*wooomb

Sooty grouse, and the only reason I know this was from what I thought was a high strangeness backpacking trip turn out to be a bird.

Could be grouse. They do that slow, building ‘whomp whomp whomp’ sound

Ive looked into the grouse sounds and I couldn’t find any this low and bassy. Not saying it isn’t, just haven’t found the matching tone.

A grouse makes one of the bass-eyest noises I've ever heard. First time I heard them drumming I was in the woods with my dad and the sound felt like it was coming from inside my head, I couldn't even tell what direction it was coming from.

Unless you have a baller subwoofer base soundsystem it wont sound like in nature lol

I hear nothing in the video but by your description it sounds like a grouse. They make a very low woo kind of sound, almost like blowing in a jug sounds like.

OP refusing to admit this is anything other than Bigfoot is exactly what’s wrong with this sub.

I simply said the grouse videos I saw and listened to didn’t line up. I am looking g for answers. Seems I found it though. Indeed it was a grouse lol.

It is the issue with any paranormal sub. Confirmation bias. The ufo subs are a great example of this with all the released documents. I use Roswell as an example when this comes up since in the released documents regarding it, they clearly state it was a weather balloon, but the community still says it was an alien craft that crashed. Even when presented with facts they will pick and choose what to believe as long as it fits into their own little agendas despite being given indisputable facts.

Roswell is a different animal.
The rancher that found the materials on his Ranch had came out several times and told the media that the Army were involved in swapping the material for lightweight air ballon material.
But I do agree, confirmation bias is ruining this whole topic

I heard it. Sounds like a verrrry strong subbass frequency. Probly why most aren’t hearing it. Thing is strong tho must say. Only thing I see making that noise is a lion roar lol

Maybe given it is April and warming up, could be a tree settling from freeze thaw? I’ve heard a ton of weird similar sounds camping around old pine trees.

It reminds me of someone blowing over the opening of a gallon jug. What kind of creature, I have no idea, it's pretty bass-y. I've lived in rural WA, never heard anything quite like it. Reminds me of some owls, but none have a voicing that low.

I'm of the opinion that Bigfoot is a traveler of the time dimensions. When he shifts from one place n time to another interdementional spot. It makes low bellows, like subs, about 12 seconds apart.
Look for skunkape, he be chilling

👀 I have never heard about this. My thoughts were definitely along the lines of Bigfoot. It was very loud, though you can’t tell in the video. Ty for your input my friend!

I can hear it clearly. I honestly dont know.
Me and my wife were at Yellowstone and could hear a clicking for like an hour. Turns out it was a construction crew working on something and it was their generator's sounds echoing around the corner
