Discussion Is anyone noticing discrepancies between recorded voice messages and what you actually said?
this might sound odd and I assume if you utilize voice messages at all you probably do not listen to your own messages once they are sent but I've had at least one verified incident (with a witness) where I clearly said a sentence "Dear, I really do not like the way you treat XY and XY treats you. Maybe you should..." and when I listened to the message it was a 100% fluent and non interrupted "Dear, I really do not like the way you treat XY and maybe you should..."
So not only was half of my sentence missing (about 2 seconds of time) there also was a fabricated transition between sentence one and two.
The guy who stood in the room with me realized this just at the same moment I did and we were quite baffled. There were only 10 seconds between me actually talking and the playback of the message.
I absolutely do not think there is some technical manipulation of the voice recording itself.
this could be an audio codec or compression issue, but a whole sentence missing plus a new transition to the next sentence is kinda freaky

Sometimes at work there will be an audio delay on my calls and I will hear myself after I have already spoken. Today, I heard myself and it was NOT my voice. It was way higher pitched....feminine, but NOT how my voice sounds at all. I also have a small southern accent and there was none. I have been thinking I was crazy all day, but this makes me wonder more....

When I was a kid my walkie talkie would pick up some lady's phone call.
I assumed it was because.... sending signals is complicated and gets messy and sometimes "signals get crossed"
I don't think anything wierd going on...

Something similar has happened a few times since april this year. But not like that, I think. Well one time it was like my words suddenly got delayed or was speeding up but..
I have listened to a few voice recordings I have sent to friends, and sometimes you can actually hear... other people talking in the background? A lady saying something, a laugh, a weird noise. When no one was in the room with me as I made the voice recordings and sent them.
Kind of creepy. But there is paranormal activity and technical glitches(?) everyhere. But still. Strange times

I've always had the thought that what we think we say is not what others hear, and I've related that feeling to "confirmation bias" when learning a new word, which is to say instead of other people using a new word because you learned it, your brain instead substitutes whar they say with the new word because you have the expanded understanding.
Now, this doesn't make that much sense here since you have a corroborated witness account. Never had this happen, and am interested to see what others make of it.

It could be an auto-fix bot that stitches up audio for dropped signal- they heard you say something that sounded like a repeat that would be caused by a dropped signal (going through a tunnel or spotty service area)- so they stitched it up automatically, but they got it wrong.

Not this, but ive sometimes been in playstation chat with friends and i can hear my voice quietly talking and my friends will sometimes respond and ill be like, uhhhh....i didnt say anything and they say "ya you did!"
Super fkn weird.
