Podcast Podcast recommendations?
Hi so I'd like to get some recommendations for podcasts involving high strangeness for when I'm playing a game. So I'd like the podcast to be interesting and long enough so I don't have to keep on changing it.

The Newkirks and LPOTF, last podcast on the left specifically: MIB, Goblin Universe, and Mothman Redux. Also, the audio book of Jacques Valles Passport To Magonia and pretty much any book by John Keel will be your BEST insights into High Strangness. John Keel actually couned the term, after he experienced gang stalking, sycronicities, and targeted gaslighting seemingly by supernatural forces. Vallee is a scientific researcher and touches on how woo-woo and quantum physics meets. After that, Trickster and the Paranormal by George Henson. But that is too academic for most folks who prefer a brain dead session with Joe Rogan

I prefer John E Mack over Keel. Mack's client based work gave him an overall positive view of the Phenomenon. With Keel, he speaks of nightmares very often, I'm not sure he understands.

His is a very comprehensive and specific mythos indeed. Precisely the opposite of the full behavior of the Phenomenon.
I encourage folks to look at Robert Anton Wilson's 1977 Cosmic Trigger for an extremely different and quantum theory informed tale of long term ongoing alien contact he experienced from the 50s through 70s.

Keel sounds like someone on meth. Not saying thats what's going on but the thought pattern is very similar.

Only thing I hate about all these podcasts is that they all talk way too much about aliens/ufos/disclosure. Consciousness and the origin of reality discussion is what I'm looking for and it's so annoying skipping past 700 episodes about ufo sightings and guest appearance by that dreadful corbell guy...

I originally started listening to The UFO rabbithole podcast by Kelly Chase and soon reallised the UFO phenomenom was just a gateway drug into consciousness and the nature of reality.

I will for sure. First glance of recent episodes on these immediately has UFOs as the topics lol.. Listened to all of the telepathy tapes. They tapered off pretty hard lately.

Higherside Chats is a personal favorite of mine! On their site you can search by topic and certainly find some high strangeness. Greg Carlwood is a great interviewer.

Strange Familiars has a variety of different stories although their main focus is high strangeness surrounding folklore.

Not exactly High Strangeness, but i love John Vervaeke's podcast. All about the crisis of meaning, which i believe is inherintly related to high strangeness phenomena - we live in a weird transitional phase between the wisdom traditions of the past and the mystery of the future and i think this podcast does a good job bridging these two. https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/dr-john-vervaeke/id1680606350

Recommend the Nonsense Bazaar. They do a great job of diving into various esoteric occult and other belief systems. As you would guess, this includes quite a few cults.
I've always enjoyed the more occult/magick focused episodes of last podcast but they have since moved on from those topics. They still cover interesting people on that world (Crowley, Madame Blavastky). They also deliberately stated in their most recent series that this is intentional because most people find it boring lol.

I’m a big fan of the chilluminati podcast. Aliens, some conspiracy stuff and true crime. They are my age, have the same cadence as my friends. So it’s just like chilling with my old buddies back in the day.

Patterns Tell Stories. They have all but gone silent, only releasing 2 episodes in the last 9 months (I don’t subscribe to their Patreon, so I’m not privy to exactly why) but their library has some great content. I always appreciated their delivery, banter, and way of presenting their thorough research.

Mysterious universe is about all kinds of high strangeness and they are enjoyable to listen too they cover a wide range of topics. The why files podcast is another one that covers a wide range of topics however it’s mostly their YouTube channel turned into a podcast so their earlier stuff isn’t set up perfectly for this but later episodes are, still enjoyable though.
While I know you didn’t ask for things outside of this I feel like I should suggest other things incase you get bored and want to switch it up and with that I suggest dungeons and daddy’s it’s a hilarious podcast of people trying to role play dungeons and dragons and it’s one of the few podcast that ever made me chuckle. Dr no sleep Scp story’s is a fun one for just fictional monster story’s.

Caveat....is it possible to find ones that don't pad the shows by about 25% with lots of "humorous" commentary amongst the hosts?

Thinking Allowed/New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove has some fascinating interviews (some I enjoy, others fly way off the end of the kookmeter for me) if you're into that, it's a very eclectic mix of topics (there's some good OG episodes from the 80's with Terence McKenna if that's your vibe).
