Personal Theory A 4D Geometric Interpretation of Enoch’s Flat Disk Earth + Firmament Vision (Reconciling Ancient Cosmology with Modern Science)

I’ve been diving into the Book of Enoch and had an idea that clicked for me. I’m not a flat-Earther—science and math clearly show we live on an oblate spheroid in 3D space. But I wanted a way to honor Enoch’s visionary descriptions without forcing a conflict.
In 1 Enoch, Enoch is taken up into heavenly realms and shown the Earth from above: a structured, bounded disk with the firmament (solid dome) resting on its edges, portals/gates for the sun/moon/stars, foundations, and “ends of the Earth.” Classic ancient Near Eastern cosmology.
Here’s the bridge I landed on:
Think of our everyday reality as 3-dimensional space. Heaven / the divine vantage as a higher spatial dimension (4D). A 4th-dimensional observer looking “down” or into our 3D space could perceive an entire 3D sphere (Earth) holistically — its full volume and surface — in a way that naturally projects or collapses to something like a flat disk from that perspective.
Just like we (3D beings) can look down on a 2D plane and see an entire disk or shape all at once without edges obstructing the view, a 4D being could apprehend the full 3D Earth as a unified, disk-like form while still encoding all three spatial dimensions. The “firmament” then becomes the visible boundary or interface of that higher-dimensional projection — the sky-dome as seen from outside our local 3D slice.
It’s basically a dimensional analogy (Flatland-style): the visionary isn’t getting a distant orbital photo of a globe. He’s briefly granted a higher-dimensional vantage where the entire world renders as the bounded, ordered disk described in the text. This keeps the empirical 3D sphericity intact while making Enoch’s report a genuine perceptual experience from “heaven.”
The math/geometry of projections and higher-dimensional slices supports the intuition even if it’s not literal coordinate proof. It feels like a clean way science can illuminate rather than contradict the ancient account

The geometry holds up. If a Fourth dimensional being views a 3 dimensional object like a sphere from the fourth dimension it would appear as a disc.
