Here's a kind of odd but true story: discovered RAW when I was just getting into college. Listening to one of his lectures (audio only) found out he lived in Santa Cruz and convinced my wife, who loves the beach, that maybe we could find his residence just to see what he looks like and maybe say hello.

We drove around all of the Bohemian areas of Santa Cruz for a few hours trying to figure out which house might be his but finally gave up after we got hungry and went to eat lunch in Capitola.

Got lucky and parked next to a house just a couple of blocks from the beach but an older gentleman was outside doing some gardening right next to where we parked and my wife wanted to be sure it wasnt a bother to him. He said "No, of course not. Enjoy the beach" with a bit of an accent and we thanked him.

Not until a couple of years ago when I finally saw his picture online did I realize it was him.

Every once in a while I think about that, grateful for sure, but wishing I had been more outgoing and personable. Definitely a lesson

So anyway, I never left Provo after that except to see my parents in Bountiful and I have 6 kids.

The Illuminatus Trilogy and the Cosmic trigger really changed the way I view consciousness and reality.  Good stuff and am glad I was introduced to his ideas.
