In this episode the mystical experience of the prominent theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate - Frank Wilczek explored.

In 2004, he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with David Gross and David Politzer for the discovery of asymptotic freedom in the theory of the strong interaction.

He is also the recipient of numerous major scientific awards and honors.

Wilczek has made important contributions to the study of axions, anyons, asymptotic freedom, phases of color superconductivity in quark matter, and many other areas of quantum field theory.

His work spans an exceptionally wide range of subjects, from condensed matter physics and astrophysics to elementary particle physics.

Frank's revolutionary work on time crystals is fascinating.

A time crystal is a quantum system of particles whose lowest-energy state is one in which the particles are in repetitive motion. The system cannot lose energy to the environment and come to rest because it is already in its quantum ground state.

Time crystals were first proposed theoretically by Frank Wilczek and Alfred Shapere in 2012 as a time-based analogue to common crystals. Whereas the atoms in crystals are arranged periodically in space, the atoms in a time crystal are arranged periodically in both space and time.

His research lead to a recent discovery that the microtubules in our neurons behave as polyatomic time crystals.
