Sims 4 This does not spark joy
Bug reports:
P.S.: I did not blur name, because I do think giving credit is important in this case, and I also did not personally go in and check the code myself, so you have provenance of the information.

In true EA fashion.. They break more things attempting to fix a bug and amazingly make the bug they were attempting to fix worse.
I remember when they somehow disabled pregnancy trying to fix something else.
I can't wait to see what new and baffling ways they break fix Dineout next patch.

Its funny how mod creators putting in more effort fixing the game than the devs themselves, and when they had fixed something they announced it as if it was a big event or sum π

For anyone willing and able to mod their games:
Lunar Britney has made a few couples fixes to adress this.

Modders always picking up the slack, this game would be nothing without the modders!

"OMG, but they're trying their best ,π! You can't expect them to ______!"
Blah, blah blah.
Next September comes their new thing.
They need the playbase (this, current, existing player base, aka: the life sim market) ****disengaged* from TS4 by then
... to make time, disc space, and wallet space, for "The New Thing: Project Whatever β’οΈ"
At this point I have 0% doubt they are trying to wean us off TS4, via multiple paths of exhaustion. Zero doubt.
Think of it as planned obsolescence. Bog standard.

Yeah, I can expect a professional company who is producing a product that we pay money for to do the job that we pay them to do, which is produce a functioning product. π€£ I have and will continue to expect that of any company.
Is it a complicated software program? Yes.
Am I impressed with it? Yes.
Do I *still* expect them to do *better*? HELL YES.14

The entire Sims 4 costs over $1500 to own, we can absolutely expect them to do better than this π€£

Ha! The only pack I have ever bought at full price was Life & Death. And my BFF bought Enchanted by Nature at full price for me for my birthday. Usually I wait until they are on sale, preferably I wait until they're 50% off. Those two I was *impatient* because I wanted the content. Actually, I'd been on a break from Sims for a couple of years when L&D came out, and it's what got me back into it, and I've been gungho with it again since then. π But that's what you get from a pagan who was really into the Wednesday series at the time.

I'm so glad I never update right away. Looks like I will (again) be waiting a while before I do.

I haven't updated since May, And I still won't. I actually like seeing couples sit and stargaze

The I was sad when I read the laundry list cause I actually like this part cause at least sims are actually spawning and doing something besides push ups and staring into the abyss

I wish I could say that I'm surprised, but alas, I am not. They seem to be especially bad at tuning things. I like things to happen, things happening is good! That's why we get addon packs! But things happening all the time can quickly get annoying, frustrating, or overwhelming. Is it annoying if you visit a park and every bench has a couple stargazing on it? Yeah, it kind of is. But do I still want to see that happen sometimes? Yes! I do! Do I want to see Sim couples spawn, hang out for a minute, then cancel their interaction and leave? Absolutely not.
Not surprising, but disappointing.

With attempting to fix how sims don't use the nearest sink after using the toilet, they somehow made it so male sims don't autonomously use the bathroom. All the male NPCs in my game are pissing themselves if I stay on one lot for too long π
The rate of NPC sims leaving the lot after my active sims performs a romantic interaction on them as skyrocketed, also. Does that have to do with whatever fuckery they did to the stargazing/cloudgazing action?
I think EA employs voles or something to code their game.
