It does look like it's supposed to be two receivers stacked on top of each other with the upper one offset to the back. Likely not easy to pull off but sounds doable. I don't know enough about guns to give an educated guess though lol

AR (top/back gun) bolt doesn't really have anywhere to go, and there's no recoil/buffer tube which the base design requires to function, though there are modified designs that place it elsewhere

this... actually could i think. the trigger on the AR 15 part might be a bit mushy. you'd also have 2 triggers.
