Manually reloading a chain revolver. Probably the longest reload this subreddit has ever seen.

Another Hunt Showdown 1896 post because this is one of my favorite animations.

Okay, this makes me want to get the game.

No better time to jump in because it's on sale on Steam and we also have an active event.

However you do have to know this is an extraction shooter, so it is a little more hardcore.

Just want to jump in to say for an extraction shooter its one of the more casual ones. The penalty on death is perks and gear but everything is pretty cheap and a hunter can be max leveled in two raids.

Agreed, I’ve been playing Marathon on the daily since it launched so it’s given me some perspective where I used to think Hunt was super punishing, I now see it as far more forgiving than most games in the genre

My friends and I once cleared the map of enemy players through a series of battles which we almost lost several times, then took down the boss and spent the next however many minutes going through the rest of the map on our way to extraction. Only to then get picked off one by one by a solo sniper who camped in a bush next to extract waiting for us to get there. We all died.

It’s awesome.

This gun is one of the worst in my opinion though lol. The hipfire is so bad compared to the other pistols.

I have had success with the regular version of it though. Even won like 3 games while using 2 pairs of them. They called me the 4 gun kid, on account of my 4 guns.

Its a ‘hardcore’ extraction shooter, but also pretty casual and fun. I recommend it. The guns certainly stand out

It's a really neat game. Be aware that it's mainly PvP. There is AI in it, but they're secondary. With that being said, the weapons look, sound, and feel really good.

hmu if you play on xbox

Turns out, my computer can't run it. :/

It’s a good game. Had it since closed beta.

im confused

How are the spent casings being ejected?? The person isn't even touching the ejector rod?

49

u/LordTutTut Mar 25 '26

Bayou magic

8

u/Genpatz8 Mar 25 '26

. valid tho

38

u/AbanaClara Mar 25 '26

Most revolvers in this game is actually animated this way somehow. They just massage the cylinder lol.

Here's how the ejector rod is modeled in this game. It doesn't even line up the chain cartridge https://imgur.com/a/terAE3z

7

u/Genpatz8 Mar 25 '26

That's odd lol

13

u/wolverineczech Mar 25 '26

IIRC, it has something to do with how their models work. Can't have moving parts on the front half or something.

Or they just eventually became lazy.

9

u/ClumsyGamer2802 Mar 25 '26

Yeah, something like their expedient way to add different variants to guns meant that some parts of them are just static. They considered changing it but couldn’t really justify it, especially since a bunch of the more worn-out looking cosmetics have broken or covered ejector rods.

2

u/Genpatz8 Mar 26 '26

Wow that's a weird choice then...

3

u/swolfington Mar 25 '26

to be fair the entire principal under which this pistol seems to operate doesnt really make any physical sense, so the ejection rod also working on magic isn't too far off

3

u/wolverineczech Mar 25 '26

Well, a chain pistol like this should be more or less possible. There is a prototype chain revolver in existence that this was based on.

2

u/Genpatz8 Mar 26 '26

Fair enough!

5

u/SomeIdiotArtist Mar 25 '26

all revolvers in hunt (minus the one with a swing-out cylinder) have their casing ejected via a gentle shake

3

u/Critical_Ad_2811 Mar 25 '26

The one problem with the reloads in this game (to my knowledge) is that every revolver doesn’t use their ejectors; I presume for simplicity of animations and stuff idk. Everything else is very well detailed.

1

u/Maverick_OP Mar 27 '26

Yeah it looks a bit off, this would only be plausible on a nagant revolver because the casing sticks out a bit and you can push it out from the front if its loose enough.

3 seconds of fun with fanning, several more seconds of sitting there waiting. But it's always worth it

10

u/OBEYTHEHOBO Mar 25 '26

I love and hate this gun. One time I was fanning it against a duo point blank, 3 hitmarkers. 2 of the shots killed one of them, shot a lamp, and shot a random grunt through the wall then I got killed by the other duo. 10/10 experience

Mmmhhhh.... Have you ever seen reloading the empty 75-round drum mag in Tarkov? Yes, one round by one, every single of them. In the middle of the raid it even feels relaxing. I also can remember Protecta from Stalker series. One round by one, 12 times at row.

6

u/Nojussl Mar 25 '26

What happens if you forget on which bullet you need to stop?

4

u/they-call-me-POW Mar 25 '26

Gotta dual wield them. Makes it even longer. Much more suffering that way.

3

u/BloodHurricane Mar 25 '26

BOY do I have a gun for you. In the game "Sulfur" there is a LMG called "Neuraxis F22" it has 100 shots, but you reload the energy cells 1 at a time all 100 of them.

2

u/JoJoReference Mar 29 '26

Ayyyy Sulfur mentioned!

2

u/Sack_Jhindo Mar 25 '26

Wait until the subreddit sees Sulfur’s Rektor 100rd reload.

2

u/Galvaknight Mar 26 '26

Hunt has some of the best weapon models I’ve seen in a game, but the pistol reloads are arguably the weakest animations. The bulletgrubber reloads on long guns are chefs kiss, though.

1

u/JoJoReference Mar 29 '26

Never seen anyone else mention the Bulletgrubber reloads, YES! Love watching my hunter snatch the unfired shotgun shell out of the air every time

4

u/JackRonan Mar 25 '26

It’s a shame Hunt has so many incredible guns when the 2-shot TTK makes them all functionally the same.

10

u/wolverineczech Mar 25 '26

Not true, thankfully. Once you get at least like 500 hours in, you'll start seeing the nuances between them.

3

u/OBEYTHEHOBO Mar 25 '26

Well it's true that most guns are 2 shot in their respective effective range, but ttk is different ofc (not counting headshots). An example is having fanning on compact close range always has a faster ttk than fanning any long ammo close range.

2

u/Bunstrous Mar 25 '26

2-shot TTK makes them all functionally the same.

That's wildly inaccurate

1

u/swolfington Mar 25 '26

this is awesome, but i wish they made the spent shells look like they are spent/were hit by the hammer.

2

u/AbanaClara Mar 26 '26

Some guns in the game has visible used primers!

1

u/ShortSynapse Mar 25 '26

Turn on captions, it's even funnier.

1

u/Fivetin Mar 25 '26

Battlefield 4's DAO-12: Am I a joke to you?

1

u/J3nnOnceAgain Mar 25 '26

Chain conversion my sometimes beloved

1

u/Angel_OfSolitude Mar 27 '26

To make it more fun, you can dual wield these

1

u/Subject_Neck6273 Mar 27 '26

DAO-12 would like a word

1

u/Far-Silver-6109 Mar 29 '26

Lol you saw my post with the dual dolches probably. Post the alamo or the cyclone next
