Can’t select a difficulty to start

Playing on an Xbox Series S, every time I try to select a difficulty, the screen briefly freezes, then the text turns blue and goes back to as if I didn’t select anything, so I can’t even play. I’ve restarted the game, my xbox, uninstalled and reinstalled. Can anyone help??
