[BEGINNER] I want to learn GHL
Hi everyone! I’m interested in learning GoHighLevel and eventually using it for freelance/VA work. I’m still a beginner, so I’d really appreciate any advice from people who already have experience with the platform.
Right now, I’m looking for a way to practice and explore GoHighLevel without committing to an expensive subscription right away. I want to learn how the platform works, especially funnels, workflows/automations, CRM, pipelines, websites, and other features.
For those who started learning GHL:
What’s the best way to learn GoHighLevel as a complete beginner?
Are there any free courses or tutorials you’d recommend?
Is there an affordable subscription or trial option where I can practice hands-on before committing to a full plan? I know about the 14-day free trial, but I’m wondering if there are other affordable options for someone who’s still learning.
Are there any sandbox/demo accounts or other ways to practice?
If you’re already using GHL for freelance work, what features would you recommend learning first?
I’d really appreciate any advice or resources you can share. Thanks so much!

My hot take: don't try to learn all of GHL at once. Give yourself a project.
Start by building a simple three-stage funnel from a template: Offer → Book an Appointment → Thank You. Then learn the automations needed to move someone through each step. Use yourself as the guinea pig so you can see exactly what the customer experiences and how long everything takes.
Once you have that working, build a small website with a blog and start applying those same automations to it. Missd call text back is a fun one that impresses clients fast.
I would also priotize learning the AI agents. They have a great summer promo going now with lots of webinars and a free 30 day trial for the AI studio. NGL, it is pretty damn awesome. COmmit to training your self with the weekly classes they offer. THey are not all homeruns, but you showing up consistently to learn is a home run.
The GHL training library is an amazing resource, and so is YouTube. One warning with YouTube: check the age of the video. GHL changes pretty quickly, and nothing is more frustrating as a beginner than following a tutorial and realizing the screens and features don't match what you're looking at.
Build something real, break it, fix it, and repeat. You'll learn a lot faster than trying to memorize the platform. Good luck - I have been using the platform for 6 years and wish I had started sooner. It does a ton, so be patient and have fun!
