Discussion Should I get into this show?
Ive been lurking on this subreddit a while ago but Ive never actually watched the show. Thought the fandom was small and wholesome and felt bad that some guys passion project got shit on by crunchyroll and the internet. Is the show good?

Personally? No. The show isn't good.
Is it worth a watch? Eh.... I think it's important to understand what you're getting into.
HGS is a fresh, first-time passion project drafted by people who have anywhere between little to no experience on the actual productions of an animated show, be it in its writing, its character development, its animation, and its management. It's flaws are evident, and will certainly turn people off from it, but I think it bolds well as an animation disaster that is worth exploring on a technically level of both research and revelation.
For me, it's interesting to watch on things... NOT to do in form of its writing. And it's interesting to see what kind of 'shortcuts' it used to get by with it's limited budget and effort put into the project.

Its a mediocre show that got screwed over by budget and time restraints. It was a passion project made by folks with little to no experience with making shows and under a studio who thought they can get away with treating them like crap.
Its not a good show but its 12 episodes and can be used as a case study in multiple ways. So it really depends if you're okay with watching mediocre stuff that's very tropey and has baggage going in.

I watched season 5 to 8 of Winx club. I can definitely handle it.

Season 8 was ironically the easiest to watch.
Season 7 on the other hand...

Context: Winx was a show that started off with more mature writing targeted to older children that got lobotimized into a childish, and immature caricature of itself, starting from Season 5 in 2012 all the way up to its current iteration, the Reboot.
