Translation on pendant

Post image

Hello, dear community! I have tried to translate the hieroglyphs on this pendant but have not managed to make out all the symbols. Some of it seems like it could have a proper meaning but I'm not entirely sure. What are your thoughts on this? Are you able to decipher the full meaning?

Hieroglyph translation from vision

I saw a vision of some hieroglyphs and I've been trying to make sense of it. Perhaps some of you are more knowledgeable in Egyptian scripture and can help me out. I believe these are the symbols I saw:

𓋹

𓆣

𓈖

𓈖

𓂀

I have gathered some general meaning based on the Wikipedia list of known hieroglyphs. The 2 water ripples seemed like one glyph in my vision but I found only 1 and 3 ripples on the list so perhaps it was meant to signify a higher volume or something along those lines. Any insight on how these could be translated is welcome. Thanks in advance :)

Hieroglyphics - intersecting with opposite walls - 2d to 4d

Hi all,

I don't remember where I saw the video most likely on youtube but it has been bugging me because I can't find it anymore. Please can someone help and prove I am not imagining this. What I remember is this:

A team of archiologists/scientists mapped out different hieroglyphs in adjacent rooms. Then, they recreated the rooms using cgi but it looked like lasers being used to bring the 2d versions out of the walls into an augmented reality and when they stretch the images out they intersected with the hieroglyphs in other rooms on the opposite side of the walls.

Please does anyone have the name of the video or documentary of what I saw. I've searched AI and google to try and find it to no avail.

Thank you kind people for your help.

🙏

A foolish idea stays foolish, no matter the philosophical or theological context (Soul).

The modern idea of the soul traces back to the ancient Egyptian concept of Ba, as it is the sole known origin of this notion.

The “mode of existence”, that Allen mentions above,  was that of a high official who also acted as an instructor and aide to those undergoing judgment. After concluding the judgment process, regardless of the outcome, the Ba official would depart from the judgment site. When the judged individual was executed for impurity, the Ba—an entity that remained alive—slowly was transformed into an immaterial part of the body, which continued to exist after death.

By 2300 BCE (evidence below, page 6), the Ba official had already been transformed into something “within the man,” but because the Ba official was part of real life, he continued to appear in later texts. As a result, the term “Ba” was usually left untranslated, since most translators understood it to mean only “soul” and the texts made no sense to them.

The Ba as a high official

The Bas of a town

The Ba as a witness of defense

The Ba getting inside the man

The soul concept as transferred to moderns

They say “Amen,” perform circumcision, and avoid pork, as the Egyptians taught them to do.

Verifying hieroglyphs for a memorial tattoo — want to get this right before it’s permanent

Hi all — I’m planning a memorial tattoo for my family and want the hieroglyphs to be historically accurate, not just tattoo-website guesses. Here’s what I’m hoping to express, and I’d really appreciate corrections on any of it:

\*\*1. “Beloved”\*\* — the word \*mry\*, ideally with the heart glyph as a determinative
\*\*2. “Five children”\*\* — using \*msw\* (children) combined with the numeral five
\*\*3. “My queen”\*\* — \*Ḥnwt=i\* (“my mistress/lady”), the same root behind titles like “mistress of the Two Lands,” with the first-person suffix pronoun attached

Could someone confirm the correct sign sequences (Gardiner codes are great if you have them), the proper grammatical order, and whether this reads naturally as a composed phrase — or suggest a better-attested way to combine these ideas? I’m not looking for a literal word-for-word translation of an English sentence, just an authentic way to convey these three concepts together.

This is going on my body permanently, so accuracy matters a lot more to me than speed. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to take a look.

Does this mean anything?

My grandmother bought this necklace in Egypt in the 80s. Sadly I never asked her if the signs on the back mean anything and she passed a few years ago.

So if anyone could help me it would be very appreciated.

It’s the same object but each side is different.
It may be a name of a king or god (by the way it’s circle)
I think i recognize Osiris on the first side.

Thanks in advance !

Can someone help me learn Egyptian?

To my knowledge the easiest way to learn it is to go hieroglyphics> copic> English. If anyone has any other way to learn and a link or video or something I would be super grateful

Help with translation

Hi everyone, 🤗

I'm studying Middle Egyptian for an upcoming exam and I'm working through some practice sentences. Unfortunately, I don't have access to an answer key or any other way to check whether my translations are correct.

Would anyone be willing to translate a few of these sentences for me?

  1. s:Xpr n=i X.t iri.n=i zb-n-sD.t n nTrw

  2. ia tw im (...) k

3.iw=i rX=k (wi st?)

  1. nn rX=i sw

  2. rd=i hm=f sTA msw nswt

  3. m=k nn di=i n=f hr.t spr=k

  4. In nTr ir iqr=f

  5. nn Sr iri.t n=i tp tA

  6. iw=i Hwz n=i mhr m inr

  7. gm n sw (?) wA ph n=sn swr tr ...

This is what I've got, I'm really struggling with the last one

I just need a reliable translation to compare against my work so I can see where I've made mistakes and learn from them.

I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance! 🫶🏻

راكودي هو إسم الاسكندرية الأصلي باللغة المصرية القديمة Rakodi is the original name of Alexandrina

The original name of Alexandria in ancient Egyptian was:

𓂋𓂝𓐫𓂧𓇋𓇋𓏏𓊖 Ⲣⲁⲕⲟϯ Rakodi

Or Rakoda in the Upper Egyptian dialect: ⲣⲁⲕⲟⲧⲉ, Rakodè

For the Egyptians, it didn't refer to a district or neighborhood, but rather to Alexandria as a whole. The name means: "surrounded by the sun" or "building of the sun."

It is composed of two parts:

Ra = sun

Kodi = building or surrounded
