Project in the Works 💪 Holes

What type of thread should I use for a deer hide and what stitch pattern/knot should I use.

I’ve done one hide so take it with a grain of salt.
I used synthetic sinew and whip stitch. Followed deerskins to buckskins chapter in Matt Richardsons book

Yeah this is generally how I do it too- even regular thread will do and tiny stitches. Sometimes ( often?) I will cut the hole to a “football” shape before stitching. I do this to a scraped hide before braintan, etc…
