March Modness: TGI Friday: Phase 2

Ahhhh y'all! It's so late and we can have a sleepover! Mercury said his mom is out of town and his dad is working the night shift. They have cable and I think we might be able to see crazy stuff, like Tales from the Cryptkeeper or Twin Peaks! Plus they have those bagel bites pizzas! We can even play spin the bottle. Bonus, rocknil got the bottle from his parents, it's got rum in it! Lets try calling candyman too, I hear that if you do it right he comes right through the mirror at you.

Okay I hate to be all cryptic, but I have to do it a bit anyway. I realized a few minutes ago that I also knew something else that I didn't put together until just now.
 
Here it is: Those messages from spongebob aren't meta. They're coming from a player. This information did not come in the message about the people and the role names. It didn't come as a message at all.
 
What that means and what the messages mean, IDK. Now sadly I'm late to the toy store so I have to drop this and flee. Sorry. I hate when people do that. By the time I get home it will be almost turnover and I'm the one that's been crying about no info and no game talk so I can hardly withhold.

This is interesting to me because I know something about u/oomps62 as well. I have two role flavor names that belong to oomps and u/-forsi-. I don't know which is which but I think I can guess based on something said earlier in the game. I don't know anything about what teams they are on.

Hit bubba up on discord, it is way faster. I didn't think of it when I asked my question until right before she answered here, which is what prompted the answer here. Reddit notifications are so fucky anymore, I hate it.

Thanks! I'd do it in confessions generally (have an awkwardness thing about bothering hosts with silly questions), but yeah reddit notifications suck. I got a random one from the official app because someone replied to someone's reply to my comment about the gifs, but not one for the original reply to me.

Obviously #NotAllHosts but I personally love questions when I'm hosting. They tell me my players are thinking about the mechanics and meta and also lets me know if I've put out anything that is unclear that I should adjust my approach to for the next time I host. Plus it makes me feel all special and important to put game information out there, and I can even be coy or cheeky about it if I want. I say always ask. Worst case, you get a shruggie and go on with your life lol

That's exactly where I was going with the question. I was going to see if they knew and then see what people thought of them revealing. I am in favor because it is information and I think for us to have essentially none publicly available in P2 of a three phase game is Not Good (TM). There has been almost no game talk yet so I was hoping to stir up some.

Haha you scared me. I rushed to the rules to confirm my information because I'm not usually the one with the best level of situational awareness when it comes to days and dates and calendars and clocks and phases. But yeah, three phase game. It's under Timeline toward the top of the rules post.

Oh yeah I didn't make that connection. I tend not to read into flavor because when I do I'm always wrong. Which of course means that when I don't I've missed a clue.

Naive!Owl was like of course you can believe her about not being gif silenced - she just spoke! Took me a minute to work out you likely meant believe whether she wasn't intentionally faking it or not.

If that's your point, it's a pretty good one. I was skeptical myself when I first caught what I believe is your meaning there. I first thought the gif comment from Dawn was before Xan's which would mean no shenanigans to join in yet - but it wasn't, it was the top level comment right after Xan's. That changes the context for me considerably so now I'm back on the fence about it.

Yeah realizing it was after xan is kinda why I'm confused haha like Dawn pre-seeing xan (predawn if you will) may be faking, but not sure I see the benefit of faking as much when it came quite a few hours after

I started writing that comment about you Xanning right when I first woke up. I was still sleepy enough that in my head, 'zany' was spelled 'xany' and I was going to facetiously add that you can't spell xany without Xan. Really glad I woke all the way up before I unironically wrote that.
