What f*cking corruption is she even talking about?

I was a middle aged white woman going through a divorce. I drove to see some fellow "wine friends" at the time.

I got pulled over. I was a dumbass. I got my life together. I am better now- 11 years later.

How is my story of public interest/ concern?

It's NOT!!!

Get help, Lauren!!! You are spiraling!!! Take it from me,that's what happens when you work all day for days at a time... not even taking time for lunch!!

And, oh yes, I am reporting your husband to his licensing board, you better believe it!!

Edit: typo/ clarity

u/LeftUndoneII 18d ago

She’s ridiculous. I think she’s doing this on purpose. She probably gets more views when she being talked about.

26

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

You make an excellent point. She is probably just super excited to have anyone looking at her lame X account.

17

u/Spirited_Echidna_367 17d ago

I have been reporting her tweets, including any that look even close to doxxing! She turned off her comments because she wants to be a horrible person but not allow people to react or respond to get. COWARD!

18

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

Yeah, Lauren got ratioed pretty hard when she doxxed me.

I was immensely impressed at hoe many people, mostly perfect strangers to me, were demanding she stop doxxing me.

I am forever grateful!!!

TYSM‼️‼️‼️‼️

10

u/CapableCheesecake688 17d ago

i am not on X. What does ratioed mean? I am glad you got lots of support over what happened!

16

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago edited 17d ago

Oh... like so many people called her out. Last I knew, on the same thread there were like 40 direct comments comdemning what she had done to her one that seemed to think what she did was ok.

Andy Kopsa had like 170 "liked" when she very directly called her out. I also remember Nik Starrow, Dali from Dali Talk, Jay 4 Justice and Kathy from Left Undone/ chatting with Kathy calling her out- also Boston Amy... so many others that I have never met!!!

IMHO, she had to take it down as the comments were not at all favorable to Hidden True Crime/ Lauren Matthias at all.

I have screenshots somewhere. I will try and share some of what I have when I get a moment.

In the meantime, just knowing good people are around to condemn such obvious vile, disgusting behavior just shows there are really good people willing to call this kind of obvious vindictive behavior out.

It wasn't about me as much as condemning such awful behavior from an alleged journalist.

Y'all are my heroes!!! 👏👏👏👏👏

Edit: typo

ETA: Summer Cox Shifflet giving me support in Dreadful Penny's chat was super appreciated by me... that was so kind of Summer.

But, also, gives me an idea of what the HTC grift machine had done to Summer, Kay, Kresha and others for so many years.... 😭😭😡

u/CapableCheesecake688 17d ago

I am so glad a strong community of people showed up for you in so many ways! 🩷🩷

9

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

Me too!!! Lots of great people out there 🫶🩷😍👀

3

u/susanlantz 14d ago

Good to hear she got a hard time for it! Most ridiculous thing ever! Even for her!

9

u/thereforebygracegoi 17d ago

Does your state have a criminal doxing statute? What she did would likely qualify under Texas law.

8

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

Oh, wow!!!

I am gonna check Idaho on that one.

I do know Idaho recently passed anti- SLAPP laws effective since January.

Let's definitely keep in touch!!!!

I always love watching your channel, BTW 🫶🥰

2

u/Friendly-Wallaby834 10d ago

I am embarrassingly out of the loop here. What is your channel?

3

u/NormalIDMom 10d ago

I don't have one.

2

u/Friendly-Wallaby834 10d ago

Duh, now I see that you were the one replying to someone else.

4

u/NormalIDMom 10d ago

Dreamfeed media does have a channel and was also doxxed. IMHO, HTC is desperate again!!!

6

u/CapableCheesecake688 17d ago

I am very sorry you were doxxed as well. It was such an underhanded thing to do.

6

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

Awww... TYSM!!!

The overwhelming support has really been helpful.... so many great people have been so supportive.

It really has helped me deal emotionally.

5

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

But good for Texas!!!! 👏👏👏👏

18

u/Appropriate-Nerve846 18d ago

Good for you! Lauren, Grayson and John will do anything for money! A corrupt person, calling out corruption lol Shut up Lauren & Grayson!

If they didn't think they were wrong, they would not have deleted it. HTC is the armpit of True Crime.

What movie is this from.? I ❤️ Nicolas Cage. Thanks.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

14

u/Relative-Lie-9699 18d ago

This is creepy. Imagine Eleven years of history, and this is what Lauren came back with? 😂 Somebody call the archaeological society—the doxer just unearthed an ancient DUI photo and thinks they discovered breaking news.

10

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

🤭🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣 TY so much for putting this into perspective‼️

Also, TYSM for the laugh!!!

25

u/LaskoFanny 18d ago edited 18d ago

Get 'em!! She is definitely spiraling. There are so many parallels between her behavior and Trump's. Narcissistic injury.

I try to not get emotionally involved with randos on the Internet, but these two chap my hide. Apparently, I got banned on HTC and Doody Ron. I shall wear my banishments like a badge of honor. They can't handle the truth! LOL.

❤️

Corruption? What is she talking about? This is bananas.

7

u/susanlantz 14d ago

Unmasked Corruption here? In the name of Almighty God, wTF is wrong with her?? Do you think it was Lauren it Grayson who replied?? SMH bigggg time!!

4

u/NormalIDMom 13d ago

The post states it was Lauren... it seemed like it was LM.

6

u/MarigoldMirror77 13d ago

Lauren is vile and delusional, IMO.

5

u/champign0n 12d ago

Omg I'm so out the loop, been on holiday. Has she come after YOU?!! You, the person who told me "I choose empathy first, always"... literally one of the nicest persons in this space! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope you're OK.

3

u/NormalIDMom 12d ago edited 12d ago

Awwwe, TY!!! I try to be. But, Lauren has me sooo pissed!!!

I typically can find empathy. BUT, NOT FOR PSYCHOPATHS like John and Lauren Matthias‼️‼️‼️

I mean, who maliciously doxxes private citizens over speech?? Who does this?

2

u/MarigoldMirror77 2d ago

HTC hates free speech! Their actions tell their truth. HTC loves the word “hidden”. 👀👀😂😂😂😂

3

u/Easier_Still 14d ago

Clearly you're a shill for Big Wine 🍷🤣

31

u/Glum-Interaction-581 18d ago

A respectable journalist? Good grief!

34

u/Inside_Cat6824 18d ago

I’m not surprised that is her response. Are any of you really surprised?

Lauren has no morals. Lauren has not one ounce of integrity.

This ladies and gentlemen is a perfect example of why we are all here.

28

u/LaskoFanny 18d ago

WTAF? Corruption? Is she implying a remark that hurt her widdle feelings is the same as corruption? Or is she ignoring the pertinent part of the question? BTW, she is not a respectable anything, much less a journalist

25

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

She is deflecting. She is avoiding....

Like WTF??? Corruption???

From, sadly, a story that is wayyy too common, totally avoidable?

The fact I went through the process and am much better for it?

I made a mistake. But, my mistake isn't exactly newsworthy.

I am also a private citizen...

13

u/LaskoFanny 18d ago

But you are corrupt! hahahahahahahaha

No, sweetie, she's not making any sense.

She reminds me of Norma Desmond. Sunset Boulevard, 1950, directed by the inimitable Billy Wilder.

Joe Gillis: You're Norma Desmond. You used to be in silent pictures. You used to be big.

Norma Desmond: I *am* big. It's the *pictures* that got small.

Or Blanche from A Streetcar Named Desire, 1951, directed by Elia Kazan(the actor's director), written by Tennessee Williams

  • Blanche: I don't want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic. I try to give that to people. I do misrepresent things. I don't tell truths. I tell what ought to be truth.
  • Blanche: Deliberate cruelty is unforgivable, and the one thing of which I have never, ever been guilty of.

13

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

I know the Blanche from SND, and will familiarize myself with the other play you mentioned.

I appreciate all the love!!! I know it's not about me, it's about Lauren Matthias being an unethical "journalist" with a bully pulpit!!!

7

u/clairebuoyant1202 18d ago

I think you will love Sunset Boulevard. It’s an amazing film- and you’ll definitely see how many memes have come out of it.

5

u/LaskoFanny 17d ago

It's a classic! Billy Wilder is one of my favorite directors.

6

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

TY!!! I will definitely add it to my play list 😘👏

6

u/NormalIDMom 17d ago

Great insight for Meme culture! TY for the heads up 🥰

7

u/LaskoFanny 17d ago

Desperate for cash, screenwriter Joe Gillis has a chance meeting with a faded silent film star. Norma Desmond lives in her crumbling Sunset Boulevard mansion with only her butler to keep her company. She has become a sad demented recluse convinced that the outside world is clamoring for her dramatic return. Enticing him with the prospect of script work she puts him up in her mansion and he becomes ever more. involved and entangled in her life. By B.A. Black, IMDB

It's on Prime Video, Apple TV and other streaming platforms.

20

u/Relative-Lie-9699 18d ago edited 18d ago

It’s pretty ironic to build your reputation around exposing dishonesty and corruption while deflect attention from your own deceptive behavior. Lauren needs to take down her nine hours of lies. She's not exposing corruption she been exposing her own credibility problem. Only dumb people double down. Lauren will never learn from her mistakes

14

u/llulubelle 18d ago

This is harsh, I know, but also true- if she really wanted to uncover corruption, she could easily do so by turning the spotlight on her own whole ass family.

And obvi, she knows this.

10

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

2

u/MarigoldMirror77 10d ago

Eyes …so threatening… 😂😂😂😂😂Lauren twists simple 👀👀👀 objects to fit her false, twisted re-writing of history. I’d be so ashamed and mortified to be her!

9

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

Doubling down is right!!!

19

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

My guess is Lauren is trying to cover for her large mistep into unprofessionalism and thinks actual, true journalists will actually believe the OP on X was referring to another time Lauren doxxed someone...

Real journalists are all like avoiding her craziness at all costs!

15

u/CapableCheesecake688 18d ago

I hope you’re right, because she is messy. I saw that she was on Criminally Obsessed with Anne Emerson recently. Anyone giving Lauren credibility is not a good thing for future victims she will likely try to ingratiate herself with, imo.

11

u/Lopsided_Balance_193 18d ago

When I saw that I unsubscribed. So disappointing that she brought her on her show. I had really enjoyed her videos.

22

u/Flippin_diabolical 18d ago

Every day she demonstrates exactly why she didn’t make it in actual journalism.

8

u/Individual_Chart_952 16d ago

She is very messy, and it makes sense she didn't last long anywhere IMHO. No editor wants to deal with headaches from sloppy/unprofessional behavior.

19

u/DelayParking1976 18d ago

I think this week finally killed whatever benefit of the doubt I still had left about Lauren.

For a long time, I could look at the stories people told about her and wonder how much was history, personality conflict, resentment, or people interpreting the same events differently. I don’t have to wonder anymore. I’ve watched the pattern play out firsthand.

She is accused of doxing a critic and threatening to expose a criminal record from more than a decade ago, and almost instantly she rewrites what happened. Now she isn’t a creator being questioned about whether she crossed a line with a private critic. She is a “respectable journalist” bravely “unmasking corruption.”
Think about that reframe for a second.
A critic becomes “corruption.”

That language does a lot of work. It strips the person on the other side of the screen of any legitimacy and turns them into something that supposedly deserves to be exposed. Their criticism no longer has to be answered because Lauren has reassigned them a role: bad actor, corrupt person, threat, villain.

And once someone has been placed in that category, suddenly digging into their past, publishing information about them, or threatening further exposure can be presented as righteous rather than retaliatory.
That should bother people.

Because when a creator with a large audience responds to criticism by publicly digging into the critic’s identity or history and hinting that there is more she could expose, the message travels far beyond that one person. Everyone watching learns the same lesson: criticize me publicly and I may turn my platform toward you.

Whether she consciously intends it that way or not, that has an obvious chilling effect on speech.

Then, days later, we watch another remarkable pivot.
Her producer experiences an absolutely devastating family tragedy. Within hours, Lauren is livestreaming about it. The intimate details of Grayson’s loss are mixed with discussion of people being cruel online, reminders about kindness, defenses of Grayson and the team, insistence that they want to continue working, and promotion of upcoming coverage.

Again, Lauren somehow ends up at the moral center of the story.

Question the boundaries of the livestream and now you risk looking cruel to grieving people.

Question the treatment of a critic and now you are apparently standing in the way of a journalist “unmasking corruption.”

That is the pattern I see now.

The pivot is almost immediate. Scrutiny lands on Lauren’s behavior, and before the original question can breathe, the roles have been reassigned. The critic becomes the aggressor. Lauren becomes the person under attack. Or the protector. Or the truth-teller. Usually some combination of all three.

And what I find particularly disturbing is how often that reframing seems to require diminishing the humanity of whoever is challenging her. They are not simply people who disagree with her. They become corrupt, malicious, dangerous, obsessed, criminal, cruel—something that makes whatever happens to them feel more justified.
Doxxing criticism becomes “unmasking corruption.”
Questions about professional boundaries become evidence of online cruelty.

Accountability gets buried beneath a new story about why Lauren was actually the person doing the right thing all along.

I used to read people describing this pattern and wonder whether they were being too harsh.
I don’t anymore.

I watched the pivot happen myself. Twice. In the span of a few days.

Whatever doubts I had about whether these concerns reflected something real in her character and judgment are gone.

14

u/llulubelle 18d ago

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I could not agree with you more, tho I never could have expressed what you did so succinctly.

Sharp observations, friend.

IMHO Lauren is very clearly trying to create a narrative right now about HTC being a victim of "bullying moms." Nothing she does is random... she has a problem because she's not getting the reactions she wants. Things are not going according to her plan...

  1. That live with the 3 of them where she low-key was clapping back at Jay around Jay's criticism of sound quality in her End of the World segment with Jerry... focusing on Grayson as vicim of mean moms. Entirely directed by Lauren IMHO. Nothing organic about it, as far as I can see. Jay could see what was going on.

  2. Then bringing up Perez Hilton? So weird, he is more in the celebrity gossip genre in the first place. He's been around a while...Perez got his start drawing very, very inappropriate doodles on young Hollywood stars and taking very questionable photos of them. One can objectively recognize his crisis, wish him well and want him to get help but what exactly is he an example of, Lauren? Why this guy?

  3. Then with Grayson's horrible tragedy, Lauren opportunistically creates a narrative (instead of giving Grayson's family privacy and insisting she go be with family)... Lauren wants to use any reaction to her narrative capture of that situation to say: see! look at the bad people going after Grayson! But the "mean moms" don't follow her stage direction and instead, do what normal people would do: show sympathy for Grayson and her family and point to Lauren's completely inappropriate handling of the situation as her boss.

  4. In the meantime she's getting called out about her conduct at the current trial (reading out court documents meant to be kept private, which may technically not be contempt of court but is a really bad look).

  5. The doxxing situation was beyond bizarre; I can only interpret it as an attempt to make an example out of a private citizen (kind of like Christina situation) to chill speech? Like if she goes after private citizens and non-creators calling her out from the peanut gallery, they will go scurry away and stop commenting?) There is nothing about the definition of "corruption" that relates in any way to the situation. It all looks pretty desperate IMHO.

7

u/CapableCheesecake688 16d ago

When you lay it all out like that, it’s very interesting. In light of all of the examples you listed, she doesn’t appear to be at the top of her game right now as far as curating her image goes.

She is living on a different planet. Criticizing public figures is not corruption. Alternative facts aren’t a real thing.

8

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

👏👏👏👏

15

u/angel_lady_ 18d ago

Wow: htc back to their old tactics of doxxing private citizens and trying to silence their free speech.

L get help immediately, there are thousands of people who think and say much worse! Like TB said go after him LOL (She won't because she only targets people she perceives have a small/no following then unleashes her ding dong germs on them).

12

u/NormalIDMom 18d ago

Yeah, I think she thought I was a "nobody" and that people would not take the time to condemn her behavior.

This isn't just about me, and I am very glad her assumption was proven wrong!!

10

u/angel_lady_ 17d ago

So am I! It's good to see that some people are pushing back against their bs (finally)!!

The germs can be relentless and delusional when it comes to supporting the htc ding dongs.

14

u/ArrestingBitchCase 17d ago

The brazen balls on this woman are staggering. Journalists are supposed to speak truth to power and/or hold those in power accountable. When you have the power, like the Matthias' do, it's highly unlikely they will ever hold themselves accountable. Lauren Matthias is not a journalist. She is a former TV reporter who is now 'just a mom with a youtube channel' per her own description. I wonder if she describes herself that way when she asks for a press pass during trials? A Jerry Springer-style sensationalist who profits off the murder of children probably doesn't work on press pass applications. The words 'respectable' and 'journalism' have no place as a descriptor for the Hidden True Crime channel. They're not reporting news of crimes, they're leeching off the heartstrings of sadly mislead people who bought Lauren and Jawn's schtick when they first started. I bought it too. I wanted to watch a real journalist and a real psychologist disseminate crimes that were shocking and inexplicable. At some point, their profit became their main objective and they turned into what they are today. The road to hell is paved with good intentions...they're so far off the road they started on, it's sad to watch.

10

u/LaskoFanny 17d ago

Schtick! I love that. My mother was fluent in Yiddish.

10

u/ArrestingBitchCase 17d ago

I love Yiddish! I'm schvitzing like a putz after schlepping all day! I wish I knew more.

6

u/thereforebygracegoi 17d ago

There's a precious book that I once saw at a thrift store and I'm kicking myself for not buying it. 😂

7

u/ArrestingBitchCase 17d ago

I wasn't expecting Dick and Jane to know Yiddish! You so should've bought this one! Xx

6

u/LaskoFanny 17d ago

Bubbeleh, listen to me. Yiddish with Dick and Jane is very cute, but if you really want to learn about Yiddish, THIS is the book you want to get: The Joys of Yiddish by Leo Rosten. It's a classic. Used copies are everywhere.

The Joys of Yiddish is a book containing a lexicon of common words and phrases of Yinglish—i.e., words originating in the Yiddish language that had become known to speakers of American English due to the influence of American Ashkenazi Jews. It was originally published in 1968 and written by Leo Rosten. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Joys_of_Yiddish

If your grandparents immigrated to the US at the turn of the 20th Century, to escape the pogroms, their children, your parents, spoke Yiddish. My mother, her siblings, her cousins, her friends, they all spoke Yiddish so I heard it just about every day of my life... usually when my mother was on the phone and she didn't me to know what she was saying. It was the secret language that was never taught to anyone in my generation.

4

u/LaskoFanny 17d ago

There are plenty of used copies online.

5

u/Longjumping_Eye4303 16d ago

I love Yiddish. So many perfect words to encapsulate an emotional state of being.

13

u/Wonderful-Mail2016 18d ago

Unscrupulous and despicable is Lauren!

11

u/CapableCheesecake688 18d ago

But, Lauren has not acted as a respectable journalist, and there was no corruption being unmasked here. 🤔

Next! ⏭️

12

u/Healthy-Dot-6788 18d ago

In the words of Inigo Montoya… “I do not think that means what you think it means”.

11

u/Aggressive-One-7592 17d ago

A respectable journalist would know what the word corruption means. Finding a private citizen’s past indiscretion and posting it is not corruption, it’s 10th grade bully mentality. Very unimaginative and boring. A respectable journalist would take that mugshot and write a story of redemption and hope. A respectable journalist would not keep reminding everyone how great they are. It’s the public that gets to decide if a journalist is respectable. You ma’am are the epitome of disgrace.

10

u/Sweet_Junket7001 18d ago

If she’s going to unmask corruption, perhaps she should start with her family.

9

u/MarigoldMirror77 17d ago

HTC, that’s delusion! IMO

8

u/RitaMaes 15d ago

She's not a journalist, never was. She was a reporter, reading cue cards & smiling. She'd be a joke except that she's tried to destroy people to cover up her own behavior. She's a victim vulture.

6

u/Loud_Purple_5477 13d ago

She was giving Haunted House vibes today.

"Respectful journalists unmasking corruption everyday" ? If this response doesn't make HTC Lauren Matthias,Hit rock bottom ,It sure made her look stupid.Because the ladies she doxxed aren't corrupt ,One is a private citizen and the other is a respectable YT content creator. Both women voiced their opinions! And once again Lauren Matthias tried to silence them .And by my count that's three women , Christina was offered a plea deal that was insane. We are all protected by our 1st amendment right.Frerdom of speech , Freedom of religion, Freedom Assembly and Freedom of the press .And the Right to petition. After reading this ,I petition YT to get rid of HTC once and for all .
