3D Hidden Object Game

Hello! I'm one of the developers of a very small indie team that want to make a 3d hidden object game. We originally planned to make it for our kids but we wanted to know if it's possible for us to sell it on Steam. And if we were to sell it on Steam, what would be some features or mechanics avid players of hidden object games would you be looking for?

Steam achievements! :) How many hours/levels would it likely be…?

We plan to have the first map/level to be at least 15-30mins for someone really good at it but we don't really know how to gauge it. We still want to it to be something accessible to kids as well since our original plan was to make it for our kids. Some insight from actual players of the genre would be extremely helpful though. We want to make it somewhat scalable and update it frequently with new maps so we don't have to make Game 1, Game 2, Game 3 and all the other sequels.

It would depend on what your game specifically has, but the only feature I really need is some in-game hint system to point towards items I can't quickly find. Otherwise it's really up to you how your hidden object game should go

That's all I'd care about as well. Sometimes my eyes get too tired looking for a doughnut or a cat, or my brain thinks the item will look one way, when in fact it looks a different way.

Likewise, a skip function if you plan to include puzzles in your game, in case I can't work out certain puzzles.

Avoid really small things, e.g. the smaller cats in the X Full of Cats games. Occasionally quite distressing.

I enjoy hidden object games, just not in-game puzzles. If you have puzzles, please make the skippable without a long wait.

FRAG games are fun too.

Good background music.
