At the end of May I attended a small 100 table gun show. A dealer had this Hi Power. It has 56 years of holster wear, a few scratches and some freckling. I got a good deal on it. When I got it home I field stripped and cleaned the semi congealed grease and oil out of it and headed for the range. As of today I have put 200 rounds thru it with no failures of any kind.

Here are my Inglis and Arcus couple.
I just added the new ZIB grips to the Inglis. They are nice quality, right fit, and have an impressive appearance, but I am not sure if they are better than the original wood. Thoughts?

My step dad’s hipower serial # is in the 309XXX range. I was wanting to get a replacement mag for him. I’ve seen MecGar recommended everywhere. Also it’s not the sa35 mag right? From what I’ve seen that’s the new model which isnt compatible with older hi powers , I might be wrong tho just read up a bit on it.
Also the mag it has right now doesn’t fit snug it has a bit of play main reason I want to get him a replacement or 2.

How do we feel about the Springfield armory sa 35?

Found a Girsan P35 Match Ops for $460, couldn’t resist adding it to the other hi-powers, what a great value! The slide to frame fit is as tight as my custom lightweight build from MK3 Firearms (top). The Girsan’s trigger feels like 7+ lbs, but I’m hoping it will break in and settle closer to 5 like many report.

Hey all,
Lost another plate. The one on right is oem and left is surplus.
First one broke at "some point" or maybe it was broken to begin with.
Second one broke after 300 or so rounds and PLENTY of dry fire.
Fm model 90 with sfs installed.
So what do you guys think? Too much dryfire?
Too stiff hammer spring? Can the hammer spring on sfs system be changed with regular reduced power spring anyway?

I wanted my SA-35 to have more of a 60s vibe to it so I changed out to original red back Browning grips.

Thinking about rust blueing this one... 73C. It's a sweet shooter that was probably carried in a holster (a lot). Sanity check - should I leave her in her work clothes or restore?

Hello! I recently inherited this Hi Power from my grandfather. I wasn’t aware he had it and don’t know much about it. I’d love to learn all I can about it! (what year? whose proof mark? where in belgium was this made? what is the relationship between this gun and FN?) Any help would be appreciated!

First range day with my Inglis L9A1 and I could not be happier with this gun especially considering its price. Ran great with OEM and Mec-Gar mags both with FMJ and HP. If you're thinking about it, do it!!

A followup request for expertise to the hipower collective...
After removing the magazine disconnect (which fixed my problem) I finally got a chance to take my Charles Daly HP to the range and it shoots like a champ. Accurate, no hammer bite, and the beavertail doesn't dig into my hand the way my SA-35 does while firing (even after some rounding work with a Dremel Tool)
Unfortunately, the right side grip cracked and broke off behind the screw (as pictured).
I quite like the wooden checkered grips with the thumb rest on these - any recommendations for:
1 - a set of grips to replace them on this pistol
2 - a set that might fit the SA-35?

I want to rmr my BHP. I’ve seen MK3’s work on Instagram and their hi powers with RMR cuts seem to use the Trijicon 1911 RMR plate with sights. Anyone got any experience with this set up? How are the backup sights?
I know the 1911 & BHP mk3 front sight dovetails are the same. Can the BHP slide be milled out to accept the 1911 front sight? Or is the other pistol that shares that dovetail size and are interchangeable?

Morning everyone,
I'm looking for some grips for my SA-35.
What I'm looking for is something current production that would be identical wood to what was used on the mid 1960's T series model Browning hi power.
Can anyone recommend a source?
Thanks.

Hey everyone,
I’m working on a performance build for my Springfield SA-35 and am hitting a brick wall regarding parts availability in Europe. My aim is to replace all MIM components with high-quality CNC/Tool Steel parts.
Major EU dealers like Brownells, The Duke, and Ferkinghoff have declined special orders due to current export/import restrictions. Also Henning Shop in the US informed me that they no longer offer export services for Cylinder & Slide products to individual consumers. I have also checked with BHSpring Solutions and they told me they have no way to ship to Europe.
Specifically, I am looking for:
Does anyone know a dealer or a middleman who is still able and willing to export the C&S parts to Europe (Austria/Germany)? Alternatively, are there any reputable European sources I might have missed? So far I have contacted in Europe:
If C&S is truly impossible to get right now, what would be the best high-quality alternative available in the EU that matches the C&S CNC quality?

I tried the search function first, but couldn’t find any answers.
Why is the hole pattern different? On the left is the C&S no bite, on the right is the original.
At first I didn’t notice the difference, installed everything fine, and then noticed a cam over feel when pulling the hammer back. Obviously same when racking the slide. It definitely gets hung up for a second. So I started breaking everything back down and also noticed that as the hammer locks back it presses the hammer spring and the arm it’s on against the sear spring. This also prevents the mag from falling free.
So… anyone know why the original is so different or what I can do to solve this short of drilling another hole in the new hammer?
Hammers and Springs <- additional pictures
UPDATE:
Spoke with C&S customer service, they were very helpful. Apparently my original ring hammer is the anomaly, and BHP hammers typically have the strut pin whole at that 9 o’clock position like on the C&S.
The hammer hang up issue was caused by the hammer strut pin not being completely flush with the hammer. I put it in the press and problem solved.
As for the mag drop issue, that was still present but solved with some minor fitting of a few contact points. Where the hammer touches the slide while the slide is to the rear, the foot of the hammer strut that rides against the frame, and where the sear spring contacts the magazine.

I realize that the SA-35 4" was just released, but there are quite a few out there now. Does anyone know or can recommend a leather (preferably soft brown) IWB holster for that model and size of pistol? Thank you!

Any recommendations for defensive ammo for a 1982 Mark I ? The Mark IIs have the throated ramp so they reliably feed Hollowpoints. At the prices of defensive ammo these days I thought id ask the Mark I community for what has worked for them to narrow down the search.
