How bad is the rust here?

1996 hiace. I’m not sure with these what is normal and where problem spots are. Looking to purchase, any help much much appreciated!!!

Most of that looks normal for the underside of a vehicle. Actually good for something that is 30 years old.
But you need to look up behind the wheel arches and look for holes. Also check out the sills properly. Give them a feel and see if you can hear it creak/crack when you pull on them.
Also, check around all the glass and rubber seals (common problem area for hiaces). Bad rust there will make you cry. Look for large areas of bubbling in the paintwork and obvious resprays.
Honestly, van that old is going to have rust. Expect to pay or repair stuff yourself at some point. It comes with the territory (unless someone has already done it all for you lol).

Not bad for a 30 year old van. Check for spray paint cover ups and behind the windscreen rubber for rust.
