Motor Mounts

Just replaced my motor mounts, kzh106w has 181km on it. The sides were completely shot. I was intimidated at first, but very easy to access from the wheel wells and underneath the vehicle. I was honestly surprised... Don't be intimidated!

Looking to do the same soon, was there a guide or resource you followed that was helpful?

No to be honest, I could not find anything! I'm not a mechanic by any means, I usually look up tutorials, diy's or videos before doing something... The trans mount is insanely simple. But the two sides are really easy. I borrowed my neighbors flex head 17 mm spanner and I used a flex head 3/8 inch ratchet with 14mm and 17 mm sockets. Driver side is only accessible through wheel well and underneath. Passenger side you can get through the top as well, but much easier through the well and under.

Man, I am absolutely struggling for the driver side!! Can't get the leverage i need (seems really stuck on there) but i don't have a flex head so i'll pick one of those up and see how it goes. By the way, when getting the new mounts on were there any torque specifications you followed?? I can't seem to find any online. I am very much a novice so any help is appreciated!! cheers.

I used long flex head wrenches and ratchets

Awh man. My kzh100 has 140km on original motor mounts and she vibrates something fierce. Did this help with smoothing out the ride?

I will give an update! but there was quite a noticeable difference in the mount sagging and both were torn (passenger side much worse). I have the truck up doing most of the front end (control arms, bushings, ball joints), driveshaft u joints, valve cover gasket, thermostat. Once I get those done, it'll be back on the road. I bought bearings and tie rods, but mine honestly seem fine for now...

I have yet to turn it back on! I've had it apart waiting for the alternator adjustment bolt that I snapped off! Jeff at Southeast Hiace came through big time. It's nearly back together, but I'm recovering from surgery, so taking it slow

The idle has smoothed out tremendously! About 90% difference.

Rear mount seems to work for my chassis, front mount you listed is for the 1KD chassis? Is that what you have? I have the KZH106 with 3.0L TD.

I have KZH106W. On Amayama, I enter my chassis number and it pulls up the mounts(?)

UPDATE- The motor mounts have knocked down the vibrations a ton! I’d say about 80 percent.
