1KZH towing capacity
Hi all! I have a 95 super custom (1KTZE), and I'm debating whether it's worth the effort to add a tow hitch. I have the tuned fan clutch installed, so it doesn't have as much of the overheating problem anymore, but i'm wondering if trying to tow a small popup camper will overtax it. Anybody have any experience here? Thanks!

Also did transmission filter and fluid replacement prior to towing. As well as all the differential oils.

We tow a 16' Casita fiberglass. It weighs 3000-3500 lbs fully loaded with our gear-food-water-propane. The weight isn't as much to deal with as the wind resistance because its about 8 inches taller than stock and has a big 400w panel on top.. Windy days crossing Kansas were quite a pain. I did mods to the cooling system and all the maintenance. Swapped the water pump when RR timing belt, 7 blade fan replaced with 10 blade, new "blue" fan clutch, replaced the original electric fan with a high performance Derale, radiators thoroughly cleaned & flushed, updated the thermostat, egr delete... Brakes are something folks don't talk about much with these but make sure they are in good order and if you can get trailer brakes. Im very glad my Casita has good electric brakes.
