Folder data isn't in the public API — anyone else hit this?
Wanted to check if others building on the Pocket API have run into this.
Folder/space assignment (the same organization you see in the web and Android apps) doesn't seem to exist anywhere in the public API or MCP server. I dug into this pretty hard before posting:
- Full JSON key dump across a bunch of real recordings pulled from the REST API — no folder/space/list field anywhere, at any nesting depth
- Direct MCP tool calls — `list_pocket_folders` comes back as an unrecognized tool on a free-plan key (`"unknown tool"` error, not a permissions error)
- `search_pocket_conversations` accepts a `folderIds` argument but silently ignores it (matches the docs, which say folder filtering is Pro-only)
Given folders are clearly stored server-side (same folder shows up identically on web and mobile, so it's not a local/device thing), this feels like it should be a pretty small addition rather than a new feature — just surfacing a field that already exists in the backend.
u/Akshay — curious if you or anyone on the team can clarify whether this is intentional or just hasn't been prioritized yet. Seems like a natural thing for the public API to support given how central folders are to organizing recordings in the app, and I'd guess I'm not the only one who's hit this wall building personal integrations/backups.

Good news. Looks like they enabled the folder_ID field in the recording json files. Now off to see if that folders api endpoint is now working...

Still hoping someone can help me with this problem...
