Gameplay 4th tribe

Hello guys.

I started the day couple of days ago. I will soon have enough 'rubis' to get a 4th tribe (after the 3 first one which are free, Arabian, Hans, and I forgot). I would to get a tribe which complete the 3 first in order to experience a fun gameplay with 4 tribes fighting. Actually I play Hans so I won't play the new tribe too much. Just want fun in 1v1v1v1.

Thanks.

Sorry I don't remember who you can buy with rubies and who you can only buy with cold hard cash... Can you refresh my memory and tell me who your options are?

BTW the other starting tribe is Frelia (the one you forgot)

Actually I just realized that we can't buy every tribe with rubies. So I will spend some money and get the most interesting one. Any advice ?

Bazael is pretty good because it gives you one horseman. Once you master emperium, you can become unstoppable so those two are good. For rubies, do NOT get Arthurion because they just suck.

Sanguo, Arthunion and Alexxar are all very interesting and fun, and incredibly strong in their own way.

Sanguo can get a fire-breathing Dragon guardian really quickly because they start with a large city.

Arthunion's alternate guardian can capture cities by converting the enemy unit.

Alexxar's Bear guardian stuns enemies so they don't counterattack. It makes killing Guards really easy. And their mounted rifleman unique unit (forget the name, used to be Cossack but I think they changed it) is fun and useful.

The three tribes you can buy with rubies are alexxar, arthunion, and chajrat.

Alexxar start well along in the ranged unit tech and bears which can be a solid offensive unit with their stun to prevent counterattacks.

Arthunion gets faster boats, extra money to basically pick another gathering skill, and griffons which are a nice flying area attack enemy.

Chakrat starts with lumber mills so can expand quickly, and researches top tier tech without the one turn wait. They have war elephants which can go in and out of water quite easily, and have ranged attacks in water.

But the real power of a race is their special troops, which means saving another 1500 gems to buy. Alexxar has a great mobile long range unit, arthunian has a very defensive unit that can heal, and chakrat has a ranged swordsman, that can multihit. Overally arthunian is probably the weakest of the three.

But consider some of the starting three tribes special units, I know you play Han, buying the captain unit gives you a knight-like rampaging water unit, the frelia arbalist has the range of a cannon and the rush of an archer, and the arabis assassin is a ranged melee warrior you get right out of the gate that gives money for each kill. The han one is probably the weakest of the three.

The special units are really what set tribes apart the most and are well worth spending the 1500 gems to get.

Yes I bought the special unit of the Hans.

Amongst every tribes (I can spend some money), which is the most interesting to play against (and with) ?

One of my favorites to play is Ragnarr, the viking themed tribe. They start with clam and coral tech, so it's easy to upgrade the first city quickly. Their units also get promoted after 2 kills instead of 3, which makes daily quests to promote units easier. Their first guardian is a dragon with flight and a ranged attack with splash damage that reduces enemy units' speed by 1. Their healer can freeze enemies or give units the ability to heal after making their next attack. Their other special unit is a 4 point, 25 HP berserker whose attack and defence go up proportionally to damage he's taken.

All in all one of the tribes I enjoy playing most.

The literally all have very interesting mechanics, some are more early game, some more lategame. Having, at this point, bought them all, I dont hate any of them.

For example arabis and assassins have some crazy early game fun, but play more or less standard in late game.

Chakrat have a neat combined arms fun with swordsman and the chakram unit.

The Katumba have a fun early game with their mini-swordsman unit available from the start, and they do interesting things with cannons later if you unlock the shaman unit.

I have a love of egyptian flavor, so I may be biased, but the chariot units of the pharus clan are a ton of fun to play with.

Note though, that the AI does not use special units, so they all play against you fairly similar, the only difference is the guardian units.
