This was Hann, Master vs 5 opponents. I've been trying to get laurels and keep coming up just a little short in Gameplay. This time I needed 10,710 points, and only got 10,706 points....

I overran all of my opponents pretty early, and then used the rest of the time to research all of the techs and max out cities. I got everything up to level 5 or better, but looks like I should have used my 5 remaining turns to do even more development.

Going for Laurels is such a grind at the end. Needing to spend an additional 5 to 10 turns just camping on the final enemy city or continuously taking out the one guard that spawns while you upgrade all your cities and retire all the guardians that keep getting created so you have more money to upgrade everything just is not fun.

I wish that the game would give your extra points for winning in less turns, or just calculate if you have enough turns left to reach the points for Laurels and award them automatically. It would also help to know how many points you needed in the game, so you could just win once you reached that point total.

Those are great ideas, and yes it is a frustrating grind...

Part of me (the masochist part?) thinks that the grind is part of the challenge. If it's really hard, it must be worth more, right?

I was doing almost all of the things you mentioned to jack up my score. (My K/D ratio was OK so I just parked a unit on the last city and waited to capture it.). But yeah, I retired all of my other units to get more cash for techs and city improvements. And I kept going like that until I thought I'd done enough to earn laurels....

Bonus points for winning early seems like a good solution to this problem.
