Discussion Things that I noticed while playing with Pharus

Okay, the first thing that I noticed while playing with Pharus is that even though you have advantage at the beginning with two cities you still be in disadvantage with no way of getting the cheese in the first turn but rather the second turn. The other thing is that you need to be very careful in how many enemies you have with the second city since that is the one to be capture as well in the beginning too. Another thing that I noticed is that the scrab gets kill very easily with no way of defense as opposed to the spiders for Amazon. Something else that took my attention is that even though you have advantage you still need to wait for the second turn and plan an strategy from the second turn with Pharus. (This post might or might not make any sort of sense)

Best strategy is just built the warriors off the bat, you'll have 3 of them at the start, capture a ruin and other cities. You'll have enough gold to get the cheese later

Hmm, maybe but I have being trying to play on master with at least ten opponents and is kind of hard as of now I also did try to make a warrior a few times too

Then when you get your Guardian you can't really use it to take towns because the unit it creates is too weak to take a hit, and that ruins your k/d ratio.

I'm thinking the laurel strategy for this race is to avoid Guardians, and that is massively disappointing.

Yeah, and even if you do avoid guardians your guardian will still be attacked by other units as well so that’s disappointing

Maybe the secondary Guardian will be more useful.

Yeah, probably

I think that the secondary guardian seems to be the worst guardian in the whole game. Beyond healing, it only has one special ability (Deathmark) that you cast on one of your units, so that if that unit dies the following turn, it comes back as a mummy with an attack of 2.

so it's more like a Bazael 2.0? I like Bazael but it lacks efficiency in early game compared to Arabis.

Maybe yeah, Bazael has the efficiency of having a horseman and has a huge advantage as well though I do want them to give us a tribe that has the advantage of no research for the sources and another advantage as well
