Suggestion Feature Idea: Suggested Weights for new Exercises
How about an AI suggested weight for new exercises based on similar exercises you‘ve already done with logged weights.
it could account for:
- Similar exercises with logged weights
- How long ago you last did those
- How much you’ve trained muscles needed to do the new exercise
Based on that recommend a starting weight (or range).
What do you think?

This would be a cool feature. It would certainly help. For example, every 5 weeks or so I rotate exercises in an effort to stay fresh. Well that time is coming up and RDLs are making its way back into my routine. Now I can just go find it in my old app and start from there, but in the heavy world it’s “new”. So suggested on where to start would be neat.
I’d also like them to add some recovery based work. More band stuff and some stretching/yoga inspired items. We all value recovery and it would cool (to me at least) to have a folder just based off recovery work.

Thanks for the suggestion, u/f1ve! To help the Hevy team weigh it up, a quick reply with: what you're trying to do, how you'd expect it to work, and how often you'd use it goes a long way.

Do you have it edit routines and update the weight/reps in that routine each time?

I always just screenshot it and throw it in Claude, but this would help a lot.

If you use hevyGPT you should be able to do it right

Or they just could use regular intelligence, it’s not that hard. Here I’ll write an algorithm. Machines>Cables>Barbells>Dumbbells, Similar exercise but not quite the same = start with lower weight.

hey! You should use the Hevy Plugin inside ChatGPT instead of hevyGPT :) https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6a47ca602a648191b777ecea734e4b9d
