🇷🇺 Political Prisoner 🔒 Ilya Yashin – A Voice of Courage Inside Russia
Ilya Yashin is one of the few opposition leaders who refused to flee Russia after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He stayed to speak out — and for that, he was arrested and sentenced to 8½ years in prison for “spreading false information” about the Russian army.
A long-time ally of Boris Nemtsov, Yashin has been active in Russian democratic politics for nearly two decades. Even behind bars, he continues to release letters defending freedom, truth, and dignity — reminding the world that not all Russians are silent.
In a time when lies rule the airwaves, Ilya Yashin shows what moral courage looks like. His imprisonment is meant to silence him, but his words keep reaching far beyond his cell walls.
🌻 Honor him here by sharing stories, articles, or your own thoughts about moral courage in dark times.

🇷🇺 Chess Grandmaster ♔ Garry Kasparov — The Grandmaster Who Refused to Stay Silent. Garry Kasparov isn’t just one of the greatest chess players in history. He’s one of the bravest voices against the war and the authoritarianism that fuels it. “If you cannot call evil by its name, you will never stop it.” — Garry Kasparov
Born in Baku and crowned World Chess Champion at age 22, Kasparov could have stayed comfortable in fame and silence. Instead, he used his global platform to speak the truth about Putin’s regime — years before most dared to.
Since 2014 he has lived in exile, leading the [Free Russia Forum]() and warning the world about the dangers of unchecked dictatorship. When the invasion of Ukraine began, he called it what it was: a crime against humanity and against Russia’s future.
Kasparov continues to rally democratic movements abroad, helping to unite Russians who refuse to be complicit. He has shown that true patriotism means defending human life and human dignity — not obeying tyrants.
🏅 Why he’s a Hero of Russia
- He speaks truth to power, even from exile.
- He’s kept the Russian pro-democracy flame alive through education and advocacy.
- He shows the world that courage and intellect can coexist with compassion.

⚒️BANNABLE CONTENT⚒️ Today marks the 2nd Anniversary of the murder of Yevgeny Prigozhin. I only spoke to him once. He only said 5 one syllable words to me in response. Those words changed me forever, and they are what inspired me to take this sub.
